Writing a baseball article and taking shots at the Garfield board game of 1981, feels good. This is what I was meant to do with my life

Today @baseballprospectus.com, the start of a long journey through time. Offseasons are optional, anymore. Opt out of this one for a bit and travel back to the 1983 ALCS; we have a lot to learn. www.baseballprospectus.com/news/article...

The latest on the Clase/Ortiz gambling scandal: what we know, what we desperately wish we knew, and how the combination of probabilistic sports fan brain and true crime culture is going to make it torture waiting this story out.

BREAKING: We won!

Today the 3rd Circuit Court ordered the @post-gazette.com to restore our contract it illegally tore up 5 years ago. That’s our health care, PTO, right to a 40-hr. work week, short-term disability and so much more we’ve struck for 3+ years.

Philly's former center fielder is, for the moment, their current center fielder, and he's making his case in LIDOM.

Wrote up a brief synopsis of the latest on MLB's gambling scandal, because it isn't really the beginning or the end of the story. People are going to be obsessed with why Clase would do it, but the vital thing is establishing what he did first. (Then, if he did, banishing him to the phantom zone.)

Thrilled for Brendan and thrilled for us that we get to read Brendan. It's time for the public sphere to take all the great writers back, pillage MLB until there's nothing left but empty suits
Well if it isn’t just the best news. @bgawlowski.bsky.social is a gem, Fangraphs is better for having him, and now I can mock him in public again.

Jokes aside (and it is *extremely* difficult to put jokes aside), DePodesta's involvement with the DeShaun Watson trade is more gross than incompetent, and it's very incompetent. Sorry to the folks in Denver, you've already been through too much.

Have a massive headache tonight, so I can't drink my usual 9:00 PM coffee while I edit. But I still need something to work with, so I made a drink I used to make when I was a kid. I called it a Coconut Cocktail. Which is really dumb, because it has no alcohol and often no coconut
