Tigers rotation for 2026:
Tarik Skubal
Framber Valdez
Casey Mize
Jack Flaherty
Reese Olson/Drew Anderson/Troy Melton

Valdez would be the only one of those top four under contract beyond this year.
As @jeffpassanbot.bsky.social and @feinsand.bsky.social have reported, Tigers are in agreement on a 3-yr, $115 deal with Framber Valdez pending physical, per sources. Tigers moved aggressively once Valdez pivoted towards a short-term, high-AAV contract. Detroit's rotation is stacked for 2026.

Alex is a gifted reporter who brought so much to the Pirates beat and to the site. He put a ton of passion into his work to not only cover the team, but do the stories that make people want to follow the club as fans or just observers and learn about the young talent. Today is a rough day.
Some personal news. I was let go by MLB dot com today as part of a restructuring within the company.

I’m proud of the work I did there, and I want to thank everyone who read along. Onto the next chapter.

Talked with Mickey Lolich over the years, including when he teamed with Tom Gage for a book on the '68 Tigers. He was a no-nonsense guy with an amazing life who never got the credit he deserved for his career. I wish he and Tarik Skubal had gotten to meet; their personalities were so similar. RIP.
We are saddened by the passing of three-time All-Star and 1968 World Series MVP Mickey Lolich.

Lolich spent 13 of his 16 Major League seasons with the Tigers, while also pitching for the Mets and Padres.

In 1968, Lolich hurled 3 complete game victories against St. Louis in the World Series to

Chelsea come from 2-0 down at half-time to win 3-2 against West Ham at Stamford Bridge, Enzo Fernandez with the winner in the 92nd minute.

Liam Rosenior's half-time substitutes worked wonders in the second half after the Chelsea manager made seven changes to his starting XI.

#Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer wants to be aggressive with in-game offensive moves -- a la A.J. Hinch with the #Tigers. This offseason is the early stage of building depth to make that possible.

Tigers trade OF Justyn-Henry Malloy to Rays for cash (money, not the manager) considerations. Malloy spent the holidays in roster limbo after being DFAed just before Christmas.
