Kevin McGonigle has homered. Again.

In other Tigers news, Kevin McGonigle went 4-for-5 with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs today in an Arizona Fall League slugfest, a 21-14 Scottsdale Scorpions loss to Mesa.

Max Anderson continues to tear up the Arizona Fall League. His 4th HR in 9 AFL games is a go-ahead oppo shot off a 97 mph fastball from Rangers No. 4 prospect Winston Santos. Still batting over .500.

To cap his day, Kevin McGonigle centered a 99 mph fastball and sent it 424 feet to CF for a go-ahead two-run HR in the 10th, his second HR in three days.

McGonigle also made a nice diving stop at third base in the ninth.

If you squint thru the late-afternoon shadows, you can see Kevin McGonigle send a drive 416 feet to RF for his first Arizona Fall League home run.

Dillon Dingler's 87.5 mph throw to nab Victor Robles trying to steal 2B might have been the best pitch of the 14th inning. Onward.

And Carpenter, who hit three homers off lefties in regular season, takes Speier deep. 2-1 Tigers.

Tarik Skubal just set an MLB postseason record with seven consecutive strikeouts in a game with this 100.1 mph fastball past Eugenio Suarez. Previous record was six.

7 K's thru 3 innings for Tarik Skubal, including this 100.6 mph fastball past Cal Raleigh. He's at 54 pitches, but not sure that really matters tonight.

Had wondered if Tarik Skubal might flip a curveball or two against Jorge Polanco after his two homers in G2. Instead, Skubal cranks up the fastball and gets him to chase a changeup out of the zone to end first inning. Back-to-back strikeouts after Cal Raleigh single.

They are no longer booing Riley Greene. Lefty-lefty home run thru the shadows gives Tigers their first lead since Game 1.

2022-24 Javy Baez probably swings big again and strkes out after just missing a go-ahead home run. 2025 postseason Javy Baez takes a game-tying single thru the middle.

Dingler Double doesn't have the same ring to it, but it gets the Tigers on the board, chases Bryce Miller and starts the chess match in earnest. 3-1 M's in 5th.

Casey Mize threw 7 splitters in a 17-pitch opening inning. It's a pitch he threw 24.2 percent of the time in the regular season, and just 15 of 69 pitches vs. Seattle in July, but 25.9 percent for September, and 20 of his 62 pitches vs. Guardians last week.
