The thing about drugs policy in the UK is that damn near *everyone* in the political class *knows* that prohibition doesn't work, that it does more harm than good, but they think the public are stupid and can't comprehend the very simple reasoning against prohibition, so they carry on with it.

I'm going to try to write the newsletter this week on my deep sense of commentary fatigue. A little ironic I suppose, but I feel we're spending too much effort trying to interpret and explain our time to one another and not enough effort accepting it and meeting the moment on it's own terms.

oh hahaha no, I'm sorry apparently a full half of the 3000 settlement per book goes to the publisher, so I think my total share is $3750 for stealing my work in an attempt to replace me
Assuming there aren't other fees or splits I'm not aware of, I will be paid $7500 for my life's work being fed into The Machine, and also they won't be removing my work from The Machine

I hate the religious belief that faith is more important than being a good person. My coworker told me yesterday that it’s pointless to try to improve /lead because humans cannot be good without god, and it took everything for me to not shout that is the attitude that’s doomed us.
