The only explanation I have for hate watching is that people (who aren't actual critics) really are desperate for clout chasing and likes, so they will watch something they know makes them miserable in order to get attention by yelling about it online.

Besides, there are many other films coming out in summer 2026 I'm excited for and want to see. Come July, I'm going to be focusing on my hype for The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Not to mention others throughout the summer like Supergirl, Toy Story 5, and Coyote vs. Acme.

If one of them didn't interest me, you know what I did? I just ignored it. I didn't see the HTTYD remake because I didn't want to. The fact it was a shot for shot remake made it look pointless. So, I focused on all the other movies in June that I enjoyed and wanted to watch.

Like most of the remakes, everyone will make their copy-paste rants about how it killed their grandma, it makes a billion dollars, and then a few months later, everyone, even Disney themselves, move on and go back to the animated films. It's the same loop every time.

Because a certain teaser came out, I feel like I need to say this again. If you really hate the live action remakes that much, my advice is to just shut up, ignore it, and focus on something you enjoy. You're just a vocal minority and have no impact on the offline general audience.
