HUGE no on this. Make your phone calls.

They are trying to use the SAVE Act to do an end run around court rulings blocking them from accessing state voter rolls:
BREAKING: I read the new version of the “Save America Act” (S. 1383) so u don’t have to. Here’s my summary. Point 1 is new. It requires that all 50 states send their voter rolls to the DHS to run thru DHS’s faulty “SAVE” voter purge program. Points 6 & 7 are new too. Tell ur Senators #NoOnSAVE 1/

Our gravest AI risk isn't runaway superintelligence but our cultural readiness to surrender collective judgment to algorithmic systems, Andrew Sorota argues.

Was proud to have trucked down I-95 to join a banner hanging demonstration in Stafford, Virginia, prospective site of a mega-warehouse for humans.
It’s redder than blue, but from the honking I heard, this is a regime with no popular legitimacy.

“every single person laid off has been a woman and/or a person of color”
2/9 PM UPDATE: Joining the list of AJC layoffs are:

· Alia Pharr, a metro Atlanta local government reporter
· Maya T. Prabhu, a statehouse reporter whose last day will be the end of the ongoing state legislative session

Again: every single person laid off has been a woman and/or a person of color
BREAKING: @ajc.com on Tuesday evening said it will lay off approximately 50 staffers, about 15% of its headcount, as it seeks to cut costs and marshal resources to invest in its growth.

The AJC published its last print edition on 12/31. About half of those laid off will come from the newsroom.

“Collection of Handwritten Letters from Children in Detention Center” sounds like an exhibit in the Holocaust Museum.
1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

Puerto Ricans are Americans! White ≠ American.

Steve Bannon: “ICE is going to be around the polls in the 2026 midterm elections.”

We know they did it in Georgia, but don’t miss this video: Adam Schiff saying Tulsi Gabbard oversaw an operation, seizing voting machines and election material in PR too.

If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.

Democracy dies in oligarchy.
