Grandad died today, whilst giving a speech in Dublin, 1974. He was born 120yrs ago in Chelsea, London.
He grew up with a classic Anglo Irish duality; strong love for both cultures and parents that made sure he understood what Empire meant. What colonialism meant.

Grandad died today, whilst giving a speech in Dublin, 1974. He was born 120yrs ago in Chelsea, London.

I just found out that Haughey got over 9 MILLION POUNDS of 'donations' during his time as taoiseach. An equivalent of 45million euro today. Wtaf? Was any of that money clawed back?
