Savage Dragon can do things like have ICE acting like ICE and being horrible because it's not owned by something working closely with the CIA, the FBI, or the Army. Or, Warner Bros and Disney. A lot of indie comics could, really, but props to Erik Larsen for doing it.

Based on comments to pictures on the Internet, we have officially reached the tipping point where the average person can't differentiate A.I. from reality.

So Trump has:
-illegally abducted Maduro, which the neocons love, because they want the opposition to take over
-but then left his VP, who fully supports him, in charge
-but said she would follow his orders
-but then she didn't
-and now the Venezuelan opposition is also condemning Trump

*If* this was just a coup intended to put Delcy in power, it may functionally be pretext for the U.S. to "switch sides" from the Venezuelan people (represented by exiled opposition leaders) to the Venezuelan dictatorship (now represented by Rodriguez).

Pretty clear from his remarks that Marco Rubio knows and expects — and, unlike Trump, he's smart enough to understand how Maduro was just the face of a broader, entrenched regime.
So why would the U.S. do this? Well, that's the especially depressing part...

All of which is to say, there's a good chance that the events of the last 16 hours basically change *nothing* about autocracy in Venezuela. There's a good chance Delcy simply inherits the consolidated dictatorship, just like Maduro did before her.

In offing Maduro but leaving the rest of the regime untouched, Trump has effectively just forced the mafia state to switch spokespeople.

Cue Delcy. Who, unlike Maduro, is often considered to be a very sophisticated political operator and in many ways has been the key regime functionary since 2013

Maduro is not a Putin or a Chavez. (Or a Trump, for that matter.) He's not some machiavellian genius or charismatic autocrat at the center of a personalistic regime. He's a former bus driver who inherited a consolidated autocracy built by Chavez. He's a front man for a mafia state.

16 hours in, my guess this was all intended basically as a coup to put VP Delcy Rodriguez in power (likely without her knowledge but 🤷).

At least for democracy & human rights, that might be even worse than the "opening shots in a war" scenario.

All speculation, but let me explain:

I've experimented with making the blue parts of Spider-Man's costume a solid black. You might think it makes things easier but it actually makes drawing him more complicated. There are certain poses that become indecipherable when limbs are overlapped or if he's over a dark background.

NEW: Jack Smith's team interviewed Giuliani, and when asked whether Rudy believed his own lies about election fraud, Jack Smith said he did not, and that neither did Donald Trump.

Picked up the Fantastic Four Christmas ornament that was based on the cover I drew for World's Greatest Comics Magazine #1, with inks by Bruce Timm.

It's not pretty but it's still pretty neat.

It’s pretty wild that the most rabidly anti-immigrant administration in recent memory is comprised of a President married to an immigrant, a VP married to the daughter of immigrants, an assistant AG in charge of Civil Rights who’s an immigrant (Dhillon), & it was all funded by an immigrant (Musk).

The one thing I do miss about living up in Bellingham, Washington is the occasional snow at Christmas time. I moved down to San Francisco when I was 24 and the only time I've had a white Christmas since then was when I was visiting family up north.

Hey, asshole. Frank Sinatra was the only child of Italian immigrants Natalina "Dolly" Garavanta and Antonino Martino "Marty" Sinatra.

Dean Martin was born Dino Paul Crocetti, the son of immigrants Gaetano Alfonso Crocetti and Angela Crocetti.

Learn some fucking history.
