Inside us there are two Ringos trying to write a song. One about an octopus. The other about a garden. Make them kiss.

I don’t want him to die; I want him shrunk to the size of a ladybug then tossed into a rural Dollar General where he’ll go eternally unnoticed by his own base whose company he loathes but cannot avoid, whose attention and adoration he craves but cannot capture. I want him forever powerless and alone
Think of our collective joy when it finally happens. 😊
And then they came for the people they already came for and I said WTF

I think it’s this trauma that has sadly guided the Democratic Party ever since. It drove long-serving establishment Dems to err on the side of “chase the moderate voter”, and ended up doing stupid shit like vote for the ‘03 Iraq War resolution and not fight harder for gay marriage.
i'm watching the 2008 HBO movie RECOUNT about the 2000 presidential election like i'm mark wahlberg talking about 9/11. "yeah if i had been there, gore woulda been president"

Capital One is desperately trying to make their Bank Guy spokesperson reach the cultural significance of someone like Flo from Progressive and it’s just never gonna happen. Not even close.

“It’s not child rape if they can vote for Trump in 2028” is the official position of the Republican Party
My teenagers can’t get a ticket to the Running Man remake on their own, but sure, they’re consenting adults when it comes to sex.

Nazi coddling aside, “Simply read an aide’s script” confirms my belief that being the head of a large organization or CEO of a large company is one of the easiest gigs and the work involved is nowhere near proportional to the outsized compensation.
Kevin Roberts, the president of the Heritage Foundation, faced blowback after defending Tucker Carlson's interview with a white nationalist. He later apologized and said he erred out of ignorance, because he did not keep up with the news and had simply read an aide’s script.
In Explaining His Gaffe, Heritage Foundation Leader Pleads Ignorance
Kevin Roberts, under fire for defending Tucker Carlson’s interview with a white nationalist, said that he did not keep up with the news and that he had simply read an aide’s script.

For the most part, Warren has been hyperfocused on policy messaging with her skeets. She’s only posted about Epstein twice, both within the last 2 months. Things are shifting.

It’s clearer than ever that Epstein is Trump’s vulnerable thermal exhaust port and you don’t need to be a Jedi to hit it.

Are you a Gattacan, or are you a Gattacan’t?
A startup called Preventive, backed by Sam Altman's family office and Brian Armstrong, is working toward a goal that has frightened and enthralled scientists for decades: Gene-editing an embryo to rid the child it becomes of disease.

My partner worked at Target for 15yrs from cashier up to store director. The goal is to be as understaffed as possible. They lean on their ETLs (dept. managers) to work 50hrs (in theory but more like 60-70) to offset lack of hourly employees. No one there wants to smile because they are overworked.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.
