I think MTG’s calculus is that trump is -more than ever before- likely to go down in flames, and she want to stand out as the new leader of maga. There is no change of heart!!
Agreeing with MTG is not on my bingo card and I don’t think this makes her a good person or worth electing to any office.

But agree with her, I do.

For more reasons than this, the men currently in the presidency and in line of succession are traitors to America, not patriots.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I was called a traitor by a man that I fought for 6 years for. I gave him my loyalty for free. I've never owed him anything. Let me tell you what a traitor is -- a traitor is an American that serves foreign countries."

You seem to be confusing "fascism" with "totalitarianism," and not a particularly nuanced understanding at that. Maybe read Ernst Fraenkel's The Dual State, or any number of articles about it since Justice Jackson referenced it in a recent SCOTUS dissent. Or this: www.nytimes.com/2024/10/23/m...

Can confirm. I am okay and more motivated than ever to speak up.

Nothing scares this administration more. Their power lies in our silence.
NIH program officer @jenna-m-norton.bsky.social has been placed on admin leave, sources say.

Norton has been outspoken about the Trump administration's dismantling of science, and she signed the Bethesda Declaration.

Bhattacharya has said that "science is dead without free speech".

He (+Crick) succeeded scientifically by thinking differently and then got an entire lab funded and running. He stumbled by thinking he was always right with his assumptions. Nancy Hopkins (my advisor at MIT) wonderfully puts things in perspective in the article.

What’s really scary is that I initially I thought they’re overreacting. Then it dawned on me. They know what’s to come. We don’t. Couple it with this bunker being built under the ballroom
“More and more cabinet members — Rubio, Miller, Noem — live on military bases now, & it's another parallel to Iraq, where the administration lived in the Green Zone. There’s something deeply unhealthy about a society where leaders are literally shut off from the communities that they govern.”

3 words … “ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK!”
Appreciate the update, Senator Whitehouse

Do the Republicans even want the shutdown to end? Mike Johnsons keeps giving the House another week of vacation. It does not seem like a negotiation is in their wheelhouse...
Since Republicans didn’t want to negotiate, we have gone straight to our best, simplest offer. It’s said you shouldn’t negotiate against yourself; as an offer of good faith, we just did. A simple “yes” to add our language to the latest Thune proposal ends the shutdown ends.

10/ So bottom line: 8 months after Trump starts a massive trade war with China:

- U.S. factory jobs declining
- U.S. families paying thousands for tariffs
- China makes not a single concession
- The world watches Xi bully Trump into surrender

Awesome.

Trump’s ignorance is dangerous. If he really wanted to push back against Russia, he’d arm Ukraine.
I read it all. @radiofreetom.bsky.social put scariest part at the top: "In the space of one short announcement, he managed to get a lot wrong, which is worrisome, because he’s the only person in America who has the authority to order the use of nuclear arms." 🎁

Loved the line in the article:

“what look like important pronouncements turn out to be random thoughts that have escaped the weak gravity of Trump’s attention span”

Are we sure they’re smuggling drugs, or is it cash (Russian, Iranian) to off-shore Caribbean banks?
"Even if these boats have drugs on them, there is no enabling legislation, no authorization, that says the President of the United States can decide drug runners are bad and he can kill them anywhere in the world."

“Islamist Democratic Party”? Seems they’re going a bit over the top…
Bring back the epstein mirror!!
Bud, I'm all for you being a Christian, but you sure don't show that in how you live your life. Jesus loved all. Y'all are full of hate and want to punish people that don't believe what you believe.

It's pathetic and un-Christian.
Chip Roy: "The truth is the marxist, radicals, and Islamists the Democratic Party promoted this weekend, they cannot handle the truth. The truth is that there is a king and that king is Jesus. And the president has been willing to say it, & Charlie Kirk was willing to say it & he got killed for it."

Hey @zackpolanski.bsky.social I hear you are talking to Laura Kuenssberg tomorrow morning?

Can you ask her why this story is being exposed by a 3-week-old-old outlet @thenerve.news & not the BBC?? 🤔
NEW: Police knew a Kremlin spy ring recruited former leader of Reform Wales at least 3 years ago.

So why was Nathan Gill not charged till Feb this year?

Pls read part 2 of @thenerve.news special investigation into Nathan Gill. And please share!
