Here’s proof that baking is not rocket science. I made several careless errors while putting together this batch of banana cranberry muffins, one of which forced a change in ingredients. And yet, here they are. I’ve tasted the batter so I already know they’ll be good.

Still doing removal of all the compacted sleet that was deposited on the driveway last night. Several tons of the stuff. This is a small part of the resulting debris field next to the driveway.
I’m tired, no surprise, but there’s a lot more yet to remove.

Yesterday’s storm resulted in six inches of snow, which took about an hour to remove from the driveway , and after that three inches of compacted sleet that is so dense I can walk on it without leaving footprints. It’s gonna take all day today to remove that stuff.

Today’s baking project was nothing very out of the ordinary — just a batch of garden-variety banana chocolate chip muffins. Start to finish in less than an hour. Looking forward to sampling one a bit later on.

I made a batch of eggnog thumbprint cookies yesterday that didn’t turn out as I’d hoped so today is redemption day - an eggnog banana bread that turned out so well that I can’t wait to sample it. I wish eggnog was more readily available at other times of the year besides the holiday season.
