Lack of action on hate speech contributing to racist violence
The far-right have been emboldened by lack of action to curtail them. It's beyond time to act

I'd love to "debate" why their MEPs voted with the far right to allow migrants drown in the Med, but no-one in Fine Gael ever seems to want to talk about that.
It would be one thing having a "debate" on immigration if people meant they wanted a "debate" based on facts. But what most people seem to mean when they say they want a debate is that is they want us to pretend a bunch of entirely made up bullshit is true.

Jim O'Callaghan and Fianna Fáil are asking you to pick a side.
The choice is between them and the landlords and moneyed classes they serve, or between ordinary people and those driven from their homes by war or poverty or oppression to seek a better life.
I know what side I'm on.
No pasarán.
Justice and Migration Minister Jim O'Callaghan said he's committed to ensuring Ireland is 'not viewed more favourably than the UK by those seeking to claim asylum'.

His statement comes following proposed reforms to the UK's asylum practices

A "centre-left" party choosing to accommodate the far right is no longer a "centre-left" party, it's at best a "centre-right" party trying to moderate the fascism of the right with paternalism, at worst a cryptofascist party trying to legitimise the fascism under cover of its liberal socialist past.
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

Remember how Trump said ICE targets “violent criminals?”

Trump’s own DOJ now reports that ONLY 2.5% of the people ICE arrested in Chicago have any criminal history.

That means 97.5% have ZERO criminal record. They were targeted because they were of Latino ethnicity. This is what fascism looks like

Hard to understand how the UK Labour party has even a single member left, seeing as it it has now become everything that you imagine someone once drawn to joining a Labour party is vehemently against. No one joins a Labour party hoping to punch down on the weakest and advance far right arguments

I mean, did you join hoping your membership fees would go towards making an already difficult life even more difficult for people seeking asylum? Or did you want healthcare taken away from trans people? Maybe you wanted to give the rich even more while taking meagre benefits away from the poor?

"We don't come out for that."

"They are holding a I support Palestine Action sign."

5 seconds later, 100 Police and an Apache Gunship arrived.

Let’s be VERY clear what the President is doing here.

Canada is the United States’ number one trade partner. The President is willing to use a trade deal with Canada as a bargaining chip to do Israel’s bidding.

That’s not “America first.”

I’m truly going to miss his voice in the evenings. He was such a great presenter. My first memory of him was when I was 10 years old and he was teaching my class how to sing “Swing low, sweet chariot” during his stint teaching in the Friary school in Dundalk in the mid-80s. 😔

We've been screaming this the *whole* time. When personal profiles are marked "NSFW" just on the basis of them being Trans-owned and nothing else, that's censorship. It all falls-into the suppression of minority group voices.

Which stage of jellyslide is my community facing?

What are the first things to be affected by the UK's restriction of "NSFW" content, other than porn?

Across multiple platforms, the ban restricts access to LGBTQIA+ content, Trans profiles/groups, resources for mental health, DIY HRT, info on 🇵🇸 and more.

But this was always the plan.
