Huge COPs are an equity issue.

We don't hear marginalised voices above the din of who can afford the pavilions, flights, comms teams, or hosting.

I’m really sorry to say that I don’t think these people are scared, but that they quietly agree with what Trump is doing, and see opportunities for themselves going forward. There is no other explanation.

This is outrageous. The amount of time that we spend on these apparently futile applications is clearly not reasonable.
After submitting a FOIA request UKRI, I obtained success rates by three grant call scheme and I can only say that I am disheartened by the results:

- ESRC New Investigator Grant 2025: 1%

Idk, I’m increasingly uncomfortable with this narrative that Reform represent some kind of anti-politics when their narrative has been absolutely dominant for more than 10 years and seems to be seamlessly adapted by all mainstream actors.

This cannot be emphasised enough. But also, there is something cruel and morally corrupt to limiting welfare benefits, which is one of the most direct transfers of wealth to those who need it the most.

Idk, I thought the point of representative democracy was that parliament was seen as legitimate based on electoral results, not based on polling.
"Over the last year, Badenoch has asked c.200 questions, Davey around 70, Green MPs 9, and Farage just 6. If those questions had been distributed according to their share of the opinion polls, rather than the number of MPs, Farage would have asked 120 , and the others between 40 and 60 each."
PMQs should give more space to Nigel Farage
In a recent survey of young people by Onward, six out of 10 felt that “too many people are ignored” by democracy or, worse still, that “democracy i...

You do not need the far right in power to have far-right politics implemented and far-right discourse normalised

This should be clear by now and yet those responsible keep being given the benefit of the doubt

I know this is just headline nonsense but that this is seen as local to these isles is part of the problem.

Lowles has spent his entire adult life organising against fascism, facing countless threats as a result. He discusses the street confrontations of the 80s, foiling a murder plot, Nazi satanists – and ...

Absolutely incredible misunderstanding of what free speech is. We do not, and never had, the inalienable right to say whatever we want. If what you are advocating is directly contributing to exclusion and discrimination, then this is not something you have a right to proclaim in the public sphere.
