Yesterday was truly a surreal experience, I very much felt like I stepped into a realm of new possibilities being with the crew.

ICE’s budget just skyrocketed while people are going to die because they can’t get healthcare. We have to come together to protect our communities and those we care for because it’s clear no one else will.

There's only one thing to be said about immigration: there is a percentage of the population across all classes that is uncomfortable around people who are noticeably different from them and instead of being given help they are being pandered to as the true voice of the working class.

America could be a socialist republic if the actual socialists could bring themselves to tell libs “we’re what you want but even more so” instead of chasing an illusory noble proletariat that in reality just wants to chug Mountain Dew and say the n word.

The public was 100% ready for trans rights just a few years ago.

What we’re seeing now is a massive shift in public opinion after a coordinated and expensive propaganda blitz, one that Dems happily ignored.

Trans rights aren’t new. We had them for years and everything was cool.
I just don't get it.

The United States is doing every single step one would need to do for a soft genocide.

And this congresswoman goes "maybe the public just isn't ready for trans rights, we have to consider that"

NO.

THE FUCK.

WE DO NOT.

Fun fact: in the 1960s, Civil Rights protestors were given literal classes on nonviolent protest; they didn't all just spontaneously know what to do.

So, if you're planning on showing up, this weekend: read this comic. And if you're staying home, signal-boost it/link it around.
I did my best to compile as many protest safety notes as possible into a one page foldout zine! Coincidentally…it seems the file has breached containment…like it’s available for anyone to print or hand out 👀⚖️

In the 1930s the Communist Party of the US adopted the slogan "Communism is 20th Century Americanism." At the same time, American fascists held a rally at Madison Square Garden where the stage was festooned with US flags, George Washington, and the swastika.

I’ve never forgotten this picture from 2016 and how it completely reshaped my understanding of how the media covers protests.
But if a few people in masks start lighting stuff on fire? Then you have news. This creates an *enormous* attentional advantage towards the most violent and chaotic kind of protest.

No. Wrong. Americans are stupid and we have no idea if the "system" is humane or not. What Americans want is for problems to go away. Republicans will not let you fix the system.

Deliver mass amnesty or this keeps happening.
Democrats know that our immigration system is broken and that the American people want a fair and humane system that actually works.

They do NOT want terrifying ICE raids, or anymore kidnappings and disappearances.

The American public believes a ton of fake facts about immigration:
* there is an easy legal means to migrate to the US
* most asylum claimants lie
* illegals immigrants collect benefits & pay no taxes
* immigrants are more likely to be criminals than citizens
* lawful enforcement is cheap and easy
what people seem to believe is that there is a large number of criminal, layabout immigrants who can be easily found and deported. they support doing so snd are dismayed by the deportation of otherwise law abiding people. the problem is that the criminal group is imaginary!
Wow. New CBS poll finds majority (55%) supports the *general goal* of deportations, but a bigger majority (56%) dislikes how Trump is carrying them out. And 63% want due process.

Again, we need a better discourse around public opinion on immigration, as I've argued:

Thread. Our current group of liberal elites took the lessons of successful non-violent social movements and interpreted them into the "hitting is always wrong" lecture you give your 5 year old.
I’m just going to get this out now, since I know it’s coming, and I can just link to it.

DO NOT FETISHIZE NON-VIOLENCE.

It is a PRACTICE and a DISCIPLINE. The people who employed it successfully trained RIGOROUSLY. It’s not just a decision, because it goes against basic human instincts. 1/x

The LA protests will trigger a drumbeat of "law and order" messaging from the White House and their media allies as a prelude to invoking the Insurrection Act.

This is entirely predictable, and any Dem or media outlet that facilitates this narrative will be aiding Trump's authoritarian project.
