I genuinely forgot that government can do good things expediently, not just evil shit. like what do you mean you did something good w/o a multi-year public comment period and 1,000 consultants watering it down into nothing. we can just do good stuff? we could have been doing that this whole time??
Zohran just went out and fixed the Williamsburg Bridge bike entrance. Just did it. No faffing, no nonsense. Bam. Fixed.

Look, they had both Brett Western Wallace and the Leopold and Loeb correctional facility for boys, what was I supposed to do.
They made normal people give a shit about Archie comics. ARCHIE. bsky.app/profile/burg...
Demographic actively begging to be exploited for money, it's shooting fish in a barrel and the studios still hesitate.

Rode my bike to class today, didn't get hit by a car, did discover the limits of my paniers for backpack-carrying, and did violate my own personal principals a teeny tiny bit by solving that problem with a backpack panier purchase. (I purchased it from another retailer but look at it, it's cute.)

I do love that ad a side quest for God, we just evolved a rat that really fucking hates the sound of running water and is going to do something about it.
2025 was mostly garbage, but there were some good moments.

One of my favorites was when a family of beavers built a dam in just a few days, saving the Czech Republic 30 million Czech koruna (US$1.2 million) for a wetland restoration project the government had been planning for 7 years. 🦫 🌿
These eager beavers saved the Czech government $1.2 million
After plans stalled for a new dam in the Czech Republic, eight beavers saved the day seemingly overnight. “At this point, nothing that beavers do surprises me.”

Went to the art museum today and they really did a nice job with the revamp and we saw a great exhibit about a Japanese print artist.

I was also thinking while attempting to fall asleep last night about how most people of my generation who aren’t from his area learned who Bernie Sanders was for being the only holdout in a 99-to-1 vote against the Iraq War

like I’m so mad at Schumer and yet not at all surprised

oil’s bipartisan

In the face of nothing else to do I’m leaving voicemails with my national elected and also called 311 to get the contact info for PBOT’s bike lane guy to complain about signaling on the new 4th Ave bike lane because that at least seems fixable.

What's left to say? May everyone involved in dropping bombs on Venezuela be punished swiftly and finally in pursuit of a just society and a lasting architecture of peace.

That list of things kids cant do anymore is wild to me because like I didn’t learn how rotary phones worked as a child and I’m 34. We’re fine dropping that one.

I love behind the scenes Muppet content bc it’s a combo of both getting shots through really interesting technical innovation with remote puppeteering etc, and also sometimes the puppeteer is willing to do sort of horribly uncomfortable shit to cram into the scene in a diving bell or whatever.

I bought a (used) one of those housecoats that Mark Zuckerber’s wife has and though she’s evil, she has great taste in home gear; this thing is great for being ruinously hung over.
