I will start being concerned about AI replacing all of our jobs. When talk to text can understand what I’m saying without throwing in a bunch of typos. See it did it here. Why would you put a period after jobs and before when?

Great comments from @drleonardbright.bsky.social on academic freedom, given while standing in the shadow of a confederate general's statue. We've come a long way, and we have further to go.

This is a very powerful video from comedian Josh Johnson. Not just because what he says that's meaningful. But because it shows an emerging trend that high profile people have finally started speaking up, despite concerns it might alienate their followers.

It is time to choose sides.

Melania is unsurprisingly selling some seats in Texas. I’m thinking about getting one of the lone seats between two different groups this Friday at the matinee, just to be amongst the people.

I divided up the inheritance for my kids (I don't think I'm dying soon, just getting it out of the way). Some kids inherit money. Some inherit a piece of history.

I am just now noticing that this woman lives with a disability, and man, there are some layers to this level of… whatever you want to call it.
This was always where it was gonna lead.

If only history had stories of what happens when a society starts treating journalists like this.
Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

The Equal Justice Initiative, @eji.org, has a fantastic interactive map on the dark history of lynching in America. A great tool for your own reflection and learning, and something to use for teaching the kids.

The best thing about this football game is watching Curt Cignetti on the sidelines. He looks like a contemplative professor, about to calmly slip some forbidden Plato into his off-the-books syllabus. I like the cut of his jib.
