The reason why the shortages will last that long is because every company knows increasing production will just lead to a massive loss once AI bursts. So everyone is just playing the long con to see who gives first.

One of the people in my Lord of the Rings Online guild told me they use chatgpt to write their daily diary as a flex of how good chatgpt is.

I feel bad when I read people who say they hate writing, especially to the extent they’d let an LLM do it. Writing was the path to making me feel human and the emotional journey of doing it all the time fills me full of purpose. I refuse to believe I’m the only person who feels like this!

I use LibreOffice for this reason
periodic reminder to delete the AI folder after MSFT Office's update
if it doesn't let you delete it bc it's "open" somewhere, go to your task manager, close every instance of Office, and try again
(even if you think you've deleted it, take 5 seconds to check and make sure it didn't reinstall)

Happy to see the lede lay out the bigger problem here. These folks were voluntarily complying. Doing exactly what they're supposed to do.

I only want a 1080p display and I don't use face login or fingerprint. Sure for me these cons don't matter but laptop companies see them and then increase the costs of their products to appease these people.

@mrmario2011.com a weird thing I think I've recently discovered about multi man with ps3hen.
Since I've started to let my ps3 rest for 5 minutes before starting multiman it has stopped crashing while loading.
Might be worth trying out to see if this is true or just me being lucky

I just use slopes. The model is a stair but you're just walking up a slope's collision box.

The amount of times I sit in a call with a dreamer and their dream game is basically "everything from my favorite six games smashed together into perfect harmony and there was endless flawless content and it has graphics everyone likes" and I have to explain that making feet go on stairs is hard
i think what a lot of people never seem to realize is that a lot of people's vision of an "epic dream game" isn't actually very deep and comes down to scale and/or having a lot of features, whereas by embracing limitations you can be pushed in a far more radical direction.
