She’s raising money for her top-surgery down payment, and could use our help:
Thanks to you I got a consult; now I'm clear for top surgery! In order to get a surgery date, I need to make a $1000 down payment by 12/14.

Now at $415 of $1000. Every dollar is appreciated, via the links below!

I needed this, and know some of you will love it. It is indeed little jewels—and small animals, and flowers.
We’ll share these little gems individually over the next while. All take just a few minutes (or less) to read. How else will you spend those 1-4 minutes? Doom scrolling? Worrying? Rage-baited? Scared? Lonely? How about a little trade?

Fantastic birds, in both senses of the word. I’m particularly taken with the choice of a vulture for Temperance—and looking forward to Matt Spencer’s “Courtly Beasts” tarot deck.
If you see this, post your bird art!

There was a lot of gossip. Not because they were both very old, and famous. Not only because both used the same pronouns. Mostly because they were different species.

How do they do it?

"Like everybody else," the heir to the Elven throne said.

The dragon smiled. "With love, care, and enthusiasm."

Do you need a sticker of a Japanese house bat slurping udon? What about a common blossom bat lovingly clutching a piece of fairybread?
—Tallulah’s got you.

I’m at the tail end of the respiratory virus I caught in Oct., and I have a migraine—a combo that means I keep sneezing and it makes my head throb.

I would like to send today back. It did not arrive in acceptable condition.

Is weasel. Is also darling.
If you’re wondering what a “least weasel” is, they absolutely live up to the name. This is the least amount of animal you can have that can still meet the bar for “is weasel”

This is why you need editors.

Our leaders would sometimes call for unscheduled, “special” offerings during the music section of service, saying God had laid it on their hearts.

—I eventually realized we didn’t even have a food pantry.
This does not surprise me. I left the church because of stuff like this. Our preacher was funneling money into his bank account and also built a state of the art GIANT church that wasn't needed at all. They said I wasn't "giving" enough and that I didn't love the lord.
so my town has been hosting an emergency food drive for snap recipients. the town, high school clubs, the Y, the churches (Episcopal, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Baptists, Unitarians, and the Catholics) & the synagogue, are involved.

You know who isn't participating? the fucking evangelicals.

Anyone else read Tad Williams’ Memory, Sorrow, & Thorn trilogy?

I’m halfway through the Dragonbone Chair, & desperately need someone I can both enthuse and complain to.

Me: I wish I were more creative.

Also me: What if I used the music of Disney's 1991 Beauty and the Beast to write lyrics about the last* Herald-Mage of Valdemar, and worked in references to famous musical-theatre numbers along the way?

Me: ...I wish I were more marketably creative.

Had a dream about needing to honor the promises I make to myself—the “we’ll do something fun tomorrow, I really mean it this time” type of promises.

And I promised myself I’d bake pumpkin–cream cheese muffins tomorrow. (I’ve been wanting some all season.)

—Fingers crossed I’ll follow through.

I’ve been an admirer of Xander’s handmade greeting cards for some time—and right now, buying one directly helps you feed a family that lost SNAP benefits.

Designs are threaded after the initial post (I’m partial to the Winter Deer and Cat Tree holiday cards).
We lost our SNAP benefits and are struggling to get by on just my disability, let alone with food costs. I'm selling handmade cards to help make ends meet, $4.00 each, take your pick, first come first serve. All designs in the comments. Msg me and we can make it happen. Pls share & thnx!

Pleased to report it’s absolutely glorious outside.
Spent my coffee break sitting on the grass with Astra, listening to the wind shiver-shake the leaves of my neighbors’ huge sycamore, watching it make the Spanish moss sway and the top tree boughs dance.

They’re detaining priests now, as well as shooting pastors in the head with pepper balls.

Of course, the targets are only those who care about the poor and oppressed.
White Evangelicals are safe.
NEW from me: An Episcopal priest — a Kenyan national who works with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice — has been detained by ICE, says diocese.

The area bishop, reached via email, told me church officials still “do not know yet why he was targeted.” religionnews.com/2025/11/02/e...

Layoffs are devastating, and Gin’s hit at the worst possible time—not long after this new job promised recovery from her LAST layoff.

Gin has kids, too; please help if you can.
Good morning! November 2nd, and we have $1820 left to raise to cover November necessities. Last week, I was laid off for the 2nd time this year. I can't tell you what your help means, there aren't any words up to the task. Y'all make all the difference for my little family. Thank you for helping 💜
I was just laid off for the second time this year. It's going to be a hard fall and winter. My safety net, as is the case for too many of us especially these days, is the kindness and generosity of friends and strangers. Anything helps.
