My UCSB colleague Gurusha Juneja wrote a python tool to auto-check your bibtex for hallucinated citations: pypi.org/project/harcx/

It supports papers, books, and
URLs.

Usage:
pip install harcx
harcx references.bib
harcx
Verify .bib file citations against academic databases (Semantic Scholar, DBLP, Open Library)

The new system is defined by information abundance and attention scarcity. It is fast, peer-to-peer, and real time. This shift is structural, not political. The public are not just recipients of information, but creators and distributors, competing for attention in the same spaces as institutions.

OK so in 1992 a girl I know went with her brother to Lepre-con and she was one of the only girls there. The shy nerdy boys acted like she was the goddess Aphrodite and it did wonders for her self-confidence. Then one boy approached her with a figurine and said "I have painted you an orc".

Really, really recommend that Minnesotans in particular disable autoplay, I know it's annoying to have to click to see a GIF but it's not worth the mental health costs of seeing the first seconds (before you scroll by) of murders in our city over and over and over.
to turn off autoplaying video on the bluesky mobile app

select the icon in the top left corner

go to settings

go to content and media

make sure "autoplay videos and gifs" is toggled off

Here's what Shakespeare actually wrote in around 1596 about the loss of a son - in King John.
In the play, the young Prince Arthur isn't dead yet, but his mother knows she will never see him again.
For me, this is far more moving and pertinent than anything in Hamnet.
