Wildfires are growing more intense as our climate gets hotter and drier. California must fight climate change head-on by accelerating our clean-energy future and investing in resilience before disaster strikes.

Wildfire safety is a shared mission—and it starts with community action and smart state policy. In Sacramento, I’ll fight to modernize the grid and to ensure firefighters have the resources they need.

Today, unjust charges were filed against SEIU USWW President David Huerta, arrested while peacefully exercising his constitutional rights at an LA ICE raid.

SEIU members will not be silenced when our communities and rights are under attack.

Residential construction workers in LA earn a median wage of just $18/hour — and many lack health & safety protections.

That’s not right & it’s not sustainable.
I support the Construction Worker Minimum Wage because it’s good for workers, families & the future of LA.

Accountability is critical & I’m grateful to law enforcement for their tireless work investigating the #PalisadesFire & making this arrest. We must secure justice for families, small businesses & workers who lost everything AND take critical steps to ensure this devastation never happens again.

I am so honored to have earned the support of Democrats for Israel-LA and look forward to working with them to keep our communities safe and expand education and prevention efforts to combat antisemitism.

I had a great time at the Westside Young Dems’ Westies Awards on Saturday, celebrating my friend Councilmember Yaroslavsky and Eli Lipmen and all of the incredible honorees. Thank you, Senator

When our daughter was born, I had to sign a document saying I was giving up my baby girl so my wife Laura & I could re-adopt her back as her legal parents.

No family should endure that. That’s why I'm asking Gov. Newsom to sign Sen. @carolinemenjivar.bsky.social’s #SB450. #SD24

Disagreements should be settled with debate and democracy — not bullets. Today’s attack on Charlie Kirk is a tragic reminder of the work we must do to rid our society of political violence and gun violence.

Today’s #SCOTUS ruling is as outrageous as it is offensive — giving Trump’s ICE agents the green light to profile people for the color of their skin, the language they speak, or where they work. (1/2)

Devastated by this morning’s horrific explosion that killed at least 3 LA County Sheriffs at a training facility in East LA. While we’re still gathering information, I send my deepest condolences to the families of the sheriff deputies, the department, and to all those whose lives they’ve touched.

The Supreme Court upheld a law criminalizing gender-affirming health care for trans youth. This can lead to incarceration of parents & doctors & parents losing custody.

CA won’t allow these laws to be enforced here. We’ll do everything we can to protect trans youth & their families. My statement:

Federal agents just forcibly removed U.S. Senator Alex Padilla from a public press conference hosted by Secretary Kristi Noem and detained him. No threats. No disruption. Just his presence and his voice.

This is not democracy. This is political suppression, plain and simple.
Senator Padilla is forcibly shoved out of Kristi Noem's press briefing:

"I'm Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the Secretary"

As we celebrated Pride in West Hollywood yesterday, a man violently attacked a group of Jews in Colorado peacefully calling for the release of the Israeli hostages — part of a terrifying surge of antisemitic hate and violence across our country.
Colorado suspect, now charged with federal hate crime, planned antisemitic attack for a year, FBI says | CNN
The suspect in Sunday’s attack in Colorado told investigators he “wanted to kill all Zionist people” and had planned the attack for a year, according to an affidavit.
