It was very telling that for three days, none of the major TV anchors would have me on air one-on-one to talk about my firing from the Washington Post over Charlie Kirk.

Just followed a good seventy people, many of whom old colleagues, contacts and acquaintances I've not connected with in many years.
Which is possibly why you clicked on this.
So, hello! I hope you've been well. Do stay in touch. ☺️

Left: headline @reuters.com ran describing an attack that killed 20, including 5 journos, one of them their own.

Right: updated headline after being rightfully mocked by everyone on the planet.

No mention it was IN A HOSPITAL.

Google still shows both headlines side by side!

I'm imagining a film, where a company has perfected commercial time travel, and that is their ad to get people to purchase their "move to the 80s" package.
Inevitable disaster/hilarity ensues.

Starring Matthew Broderick, naturally.

(Someone write that script. I demand a guest appearance)

Every one of these protests is a terrifying experience for the asylum seekers - the wider atmosphere in the country is horrible & Labour’s reaction craven. But it’s worth remembering how much of this is generated by politicians & media openly desperate for broad unrest which simply isn’t happening
Times: "Asylum protests swell across the UK " headline, reporting an underwhelming wave.

Leeds "draws 70"
Cardiff "disorganised + small"
Altrincham "*swelled* to around 200"
Cheshunt about 250
Chichester: about 100
Portsmouth: about 70 v 70 on each side

A CT state rep posted a story about reports of ICE activity in his district and asked neighbors to "look out for another" and contact advocacy groups.

Libs of TikTok posted it, calling for him to be charged and tagging ICE & DHS.

ICE shared it, tagging the Justice Dept.

This is protected speech.

It's been extremely heavy to watch the violence in Suwayda unfold and with it, the dehumanization of the "other," the weaponization of those vulnerable, the terror of civilians, and the destabilization of Syria.

@timep.bsky.social stands with the victims and has these words to offer.
With great alarm, we at TIMEP are monitoring the harrowing accounts of violence in Suwayda, Syria that has killed civilians, displaced people from their homes, and exacerbated sectarian tensions at a deeply sensitive moment.

First and foremost, we hold the victims in our hearts.
