MTG spent years bullying and berating, punching down at marginalized and less powerful people, and actively defending the worst of the worst while yelling snowflake at everyone else. Found herself on the receiving end of it for 5 minutes and called it quits. Perfect embodiment of MAGA.

Should elected officials be imprisoned for speaking out against an invasion of their cities? Hard to say. Very technical question. Really one for the lawyers to sort out.
Q: Do you agree that the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois should be in prison?

MIKE JOHNSON: Should they be in prison? I'm not the attorney general. I'm not following the day to day on that

Trump is threatening to withhold back pay for federal workers furloughed during the shutdown — which goes against a law he signed in 2019, by the way.

This should come as no surprise: Trump and his businesses have been accused of stiffing hundreds of their own workers out of pay over the years.

@gelliottmorris.com: "many people fundamentally underestimate how unpopular Trump is."

Trump is currently underwater on all key issues, something our corporate elites should consider before capitulating to him.

Trump’s problem is that so many Americans — including his MAGA base — believed that he’d expose a powerful global elite.

But every day it's becoming more and more clear that Trump is actually part of that global elite.

Expect him to lash out as the walls close in.

Trump’s Pentagon is reinstalling a 20-foot portrait of Robert E. Lee — with a slave guiding his horse in the background — at West Point.

Trump and Hegseth are honoring traitors who fought against America to keep people enslaved. There’s nothing “patriotic” about this.

Medicare will start requiring prior approval for certain procedures — and will hire private AI companies to determine if patients are covered.

The AI companies would have financial incentives to deny claims, because Medicare plans to pay them some of the savings from rejections.

What Danielle said.

According to the Yale Budget Lab, the average effective tariff rate in this economy right now is 18.2%

Let me put that another way.

President Trump has raised taxes on American businesses and consumers by -- on average -- 18.2%
A thing I really need people to keep in mind: 15% tariffs are high, historically speaking. 10% tariffs are high.

The average effective tariff rate before this term was just over 2%. Anything double-digits is high!

Yeah it's really insane how the right switched from "we have to ban masks everywhere because N95s are scary" to "actually, what if we made terrorist-style face masks the de facto uniform of armed federal thugs? wouldn't that be awesome and scary?" in like four days
Guess who likes masks now
ICE just posted this video taking down the sign in Mount Pleasant on Twitter.

As a reminder: Trump’s first act was to pardon HUNDREDS of J6 rioters who assaulted and beat DC police officers. Trump’s been responsible for a large percentage of the total assaults (and many of the worst/most brutal) on DC police in the last decade.
Trump: "You know, they love to spit in the face of the police ... They’re standing and they’re screaming at them an inch away from their face, and then they start spitting in their face. And I said, ‘you tell them you spit, and we hit’, and they get hit real hard."
