My alderperson was cuffed by ICE agents because she showed up and asked if they had a warrant. The agents are wearing masks and not displaying badges, in violation of city policy. My neighbors are organizing grocery pickup for perle afraid to leave their homes and standing watch over school pickup.

This is why I have no patience with the “but you don’t understand, this tech can automate coding tasks!” sigh-ers. If there are any circumstances under which your technology can operate *specifically* to encourage a teenager to take his own life, it ought to be pulled until you fix it.
There is so much terrible about all of this, but what strikes me most is how often the teen suggested involving his family so he didn’t go through with the suicide and it appears that each time, ChatGPT discouraged him.

So, my takeaway here is that neither Derek nor Ben Thompson has EVER planned a kid's birthday party.

This kind of thing has to be done at least a month in advance. One week out, and there's no way you'll get an available bowling alley, let alone two. And no way more than two kids will show.
