I teach children's literature & I have to point out to students that LGBTQ kids' books didn't exist when I was a kid. It's awful that it's under attack now & we need to push back against that, but it's fucking magical that these books exist at all.

one of the most obnoxious aspects of having hEDS for me is how absolutely random my joint/body issues are. I don’t have to be doing ANYTHING and suddenly my hip is wrong. I can simply walk somewhere and have a kneecap slip. I can also workout and have no problem at all. There is no consistency.

My child recently asked to listen to more “dance music” like a song she heard at a trunk or treat (it was Abracadabra by Lady Gaga) so we’re listening to The Fame Monster. Man, this album still slaps.

It’s been 6 weeks (tomorrow) since my surprise set of 2 emergency surgeries. Today I went to a yoga class! I was excited to get back to exercising, and have felt mostly normal for a couple weeks, but my friends I was blown away by how hard yoga was this morning. Oof.

Finally started Fear The Walking Dead. Things are escalating surprisingly slowly in LA. This is not in line with how zombies operate in the original show. I understand why they’re doing this narratively but shit better hit the fan before the episode ends.

Someone I forgot about but am apparently still friends with on facebook came out of the woodwork to post “an inconvenient study” inviting an “honest discussion” and it is taking so much not-today-satan energy not to reply “maybe you should google smallpox”.

Statements have started arriving via mail from my hospital drama 3 weeks ago. Everything on every part of all this mail contradicts other parts. Nothing maths. I can’t wait to see the rest of this unfold. I’m already seeing 3 radically different amounts I might owe. 😀

I’m not a swifty nor am I as “online” as I used to be. Her new album is pretty flat and not good IMO: Searched reviews and fell down the rabbit hole of all the problematic lyric breakdowns, the whole back history of her being problematic.
