No ennen Trumpia Bush jr oli kirjaimellisesti amerikkalaisen idiootin perikuva. Jopa Suomessa myytiin kirjasta Bush jr hotkautuksia
Perinteisesti infantilisointi eli lapsenkaltaistaminen on ollut osa koloniaalista puhetta. Maailmanpolitiikassa se kohdistuu köyhiin maihin. Nyt aika moni tuntuu suhtautuvan Trumpiin hiukan kuin lapseen. Mitä aiempia esimerkkejä on vauraiden maiden johtajien infantilisoinnista?

Kiinassa suomettuminen tunnetaan ja siellä sitä pidetään positiivisena käsitteenä. Tietenkin siellä he tulkitsevat sen niin, että muitten maitten on oltava suomettuneita Kiinaa päin
En ole oikea henkilö tätä analyysiä tekemään, mutta vaikuttaa siltä, että "suomettumisen" käsite pitäisi perata nyky-Suomessa oikein kunnolla. Se kun ei tuntuisi enää sopivan pelkästään itäisen suurvaltasuhteemme kuvaamiseen, tai edes läntisen. Suomettuminen on kulttuurinen kaikenläpäisevä rakenne.

Kiinassa suomettuminen tunnetaan ja siellä sitä pidetään positiivisena käsitteenä. Tietenkin siellä he tulkitsevat sen niin, että muitten maitten on oltava suomettuneita Kiinaa päin

Sanan #liberaali määritelmät ovat toki monenlaisia. Siihen voi joissakin yhteyksissä suhtautua hiukan samaan tapaan kuin tarinan mukaan Gandhi aikoinaan, kun kysyttiin, mitä mieltä on länsimaisesta sivistyksestä: "Sehän olisi vallan mainio idea".

Niin. Kaikki Suomessa ja maan ilmapiirissä suorastaan huokuu korkeakoulutuksen arvostusta.
Suomessa on liian vähän korkeakoulutettuja – tämä juttu näyttää, ettei lukio ratkaise tätä ongelmaa
Suomessa halutaan, että puolella 25–34-vuotiaista olisi korkeakoulututkinto. Tämä onnistuu vain, jos amiksesta lähdetään korkeakouluun. Nyt tie on tukkoinen.
