Call me naive (fair!) but I find it sad (& not strategic) to fault folks for getting behind the candidate they found most inspiring. People did their best. We didn’t win. It stinks a lot!

I think the not having juice point is a really good one. For myself, I went into this year thinking Cashman wouldn’t need as much help this time & I could go all in on Koski. How foolish I was! I also think there are some real juice sappers that brought me down & would bring others down too
2. Blaming the far-left for rallying around a candidate who matched their values is dumb. It wasn’t like they didn’t support the slate.
3. The real blame might be folks a lot like Eric Roper, or me … center-lefties. We never recovered from Koski leaving to lift up Davis/Hampton. We had no juice.

Absolutely right.
Thankfully, I haven't seen a lot of this yet. Instead, I have seen a progressive movement hopeful, energized, stronger and more united than ever before. Sure, there was some doom and gloom. But there was also a lot of people ready for what's next.

Last municipal/mayoral election people on the left spent months tearing each other down & apart for their voting, volunteering, running, & donation choices. It created lasting rifts in our movement & keeps us all down. I will not be participating in this at all.

Nope. With parks I am already seeing ‘If person A hadn’t run, person B would have won.’ Maybe! who knows. Maybe person B would have won if person A hadn’t run. Maybe none of it would have made a difference. Impossible to say.

Shaffer raised $248,377.66 and got 6709 votes - that's $37 per vote she spent
This is who we have representing us now, ward 7. Keep an eye on your favorite cafe or it might be replaced by a McCafe.
And make sure Shaffer hears from you often. We don't have to make her job easy.
Katie - you're still the CM in my heart! Can't wait to see what you do next. 🧡😭

Give the ward 7 folks in your life some space we are dealing with the tough lesson that being pure of heart & working very, very hard does not always turn out like it does in the movies

Turnout numbers are up through 5 PM.
We are already at the second highest turnout for a Minneapolis municipal election in history, and there's still a few hours left. (1/2)

I’m really excited to rank Jazz first. Win or lose, it’s incredibly impressive that he’s gotten so much support with so much less funding. I think it’s a strong argument for what he can do to bring people together & get stuff done
If you watch ONE video, please watch this one. Please share. Help us make history. We are so so close!!

I‘ve been driving more than usual & my take is that I really like things that make it feel less likely that I’m going to hurt someone. Stop signs, low speeds, fewer lanes, more traffic, truly I like it all

EMERGENCY REQUEST 🚨🗳️:
A side effect of having the best door knocking team in the city is that they go through materials like nobody’s business! We’re almost out of flyers, and we need to raise $2k so we can place an order first thing tomorrow morning. Please chip in and spread the word!

ELECTION UPDATE:
➡️Anything could happen in the final 48 hours.
➡️The worst people you know are accusing the other side of being "bad people."
➡️The lying scumbag developer funding your least favorite candidates? Nobody could've predicted he was a massive Trumper.

Here's a fun Ward 10 stat: there are more zero car households in Whittier (1498) than total occupied housing units in East Bde Maka Ska (1434).
Here she is in April saying that bike, pedestrian, and transit improvements "penalize the majority of people who drive" to "cater to a small minority." Pure transportation resentment politics. Farthest thing from a bike advocate.

If you see a woman in a halloween costume this weekend who you think ‘isn’t dressed for the weather’ & you find an uncomfortable feeling rising within yourself consider whether you truly care for her wellbeing or if you‘re just being misogynistic 💅

i think if you ride public transit enough you learn that most weird behavior is not dangerous, and conversely i think driving a car teaches you that everyone is trying to kill you at all times
