Good thread from Dave about the new IEA "Current Policies Scenario" making a lot of the headlines.

Here is a very quick mock-up I made of what this scenario assumes for solar PV additions through to 2035, with historical context.

I'll let you decide whether this seems likely.

PHEV have stopped growing in China prematurely it seems. This may be a hiccup, but it could just as well be the realisation that PHEV do not offer any real advantages to BEV. And yes, that goes for EREV as well, seeing how they are part of the blue curve.

Indonesia’s coal production is outpacing reported coal mine methane (#CMM) emissions – a sign of underreporting due to outdated estimation methods.

El acumulado anual sube a los 24 Mt CO2 y el móvila anual queda ya rozando las 30 Mt, cifra que es por donde más o menos quedarán finalmente para todo este 2025.

El factor de emisión anual peninsular queda, de momento, en 0,084 y el nacional en 0,107 tCO2/MWh ó kgCO2/kWh

Y en diciembre empieza la producción en masa de baterías de sodio, cuyo coste puede llegar a ser un 90% menor que las de litio actuales.

Es hora de electrificarlo todo.
