The 80-year recipe stoking America’s Prosperity:

1) Free-market capital investments in brilliant ideas…
2) enabled by Engineering Innovations…
3) based on Science Research in Universities…
4) funded by Grants from the US Government.

It’s time more people understood this.

I'm no longer certain we can use universities as any yardstick here.
Perhaps we should look at Ortega's "The Revolt of the Masses." He seems to have witnessed an inverted society where the capable were demoted & the incapable took charge--leaving destruction as the limit of their imagination.

cassidy changing his tune after what he said on the senate floor is what has upgraded my position from "they are being bribed" or "they are worried about primary challenges" to "they are worried about being murdered"
Cassidy was honestly the one that signaled for me these Senators think they are in real fucking danger. Collins and Tillis have jello for spines. Ernst probably got strong armed

A day may come when I will stop mocking, and holding in contempt, the useful idiots who accepted Musk as a free speech hero.

But not today. And tomorrow doesn’t look good either.
That one weird trick that lets you pretend that you took over Twitter to restore free speech, but regularly ban/shadowban/deboost those you don't like: just claim anything you don't like is spam.

Well done, to the Finnish authorities! A resolute action in the middle of the Christmas holidays. That’s how we increase the cost of sabotage and other hybrid activities. With strength.
So far the Finnish reaction to the latest undersea cable damage has been excellent:
- Finnish authorities stopped the suspected saboteur Eagle S and directed it to Finnish territorial waters for investigation
- police and border guard boarded ship and took control
- 3km no fly zone around the ship
