Excellent guide to the whys and hows of alt text
Alt text is extra information you add when you upload an image in order to describe what the image is/provide extra context! It's how blind people can tell what's in the image, for instance: screen reading programs can read the *text* out loud, but they can't access pictures.

I read this on my way to therapy, and it made me really want a chip butty. I think checking we are ok is reasonable, and probably a sensible reaction.
chip butty, pasty parm, pattie butty... crisp sandwich.... TOAST sandwich which is just toast between other bread..... is the UK OK

Very well! Just because the author promo'd it (and confirmed it's a standalone), here are 5 US Kindle copies of @ajcalvin.bsky.social's SERPENTUS. I also got a copy for myself, and more for random giveaway. I have given out 61 books by the author previously.

Watching Pluribus, and whilst the main character is the closest to me in temperament and personality I’ve ever seen in a TV show, I would 100% join them because they seem happy and that would make a nice change for me.

Cached US kindle giveaway, courtesy of @susannashore.bsky.social: 10 copies of Assassin's Apprentice (The Farseer Trilogy, Book 1), by @robinhobb.bsky.social, which I have, and have read, and have enjoyed. The series gets significantly better as it goes along.

Picture from local paper, but every time I go past here, I feel they should use it to study something about "average height of graffiti artists" or something, because the entire building has a solid band around the blank side, then more variation at the corner where there's bits to climb up.

I like this idea, I do it to puns a lot. I like puns, but I also know some of my friends like making people groan, so they get that reaction as a treat.
Pssst.
I wanna tell you a sekrit.
Sometimes I shout at @gailsimone.bsky.social's postings because a certain kind of shouty is humor, and I imagine it makes Gail happy and giggly to make people shouty in the right way.
Who am I to deny the catharsis of practicing my 'exaggerate reaction for humor'?

UK giveaway from the ever-generous Kithrup
Very well: 5 UK/IE Kindle copies of @aptshadow.bsky.social's *excellent* (fairly-)hard SF novek, Children of Time. I love it. You *must* have an amazon.co.uk Kindle account to claim one!

I don't do UK/IE giveaways as much, but this book is *so* good.
Notice that @aptshadow.bsky.social ’s Children of Time is 99p on kindle in the UK. If you have any interest in SF and haven’t read it, this is a no-brainer.

One evening Max, next door's cat, pawed at our patio door to be let in. I opened it and he sauntered in looking annoyed, jumped on 'his' chair and curled up to snooze.

Then i realised i could hear an alarm. Looked over the fence. They were out for the day, and their kitchen was on fire.

A game of skulls (with amusing commentary)
Apparently some folks are playing real dumb about skull symbols so let’s play a little game I like to call “Nazi skull or not a Nazi skull”

First up, the Jolly Roger. This is a pirate skull, not a Nazi skull. It means you might get robbed, but prolly not genocided.

With me so far? 1/x

Some pharmacists will mention it, but a lot don't from what I've heard. It's a massive saving if you have to take more than one type of drug, and get monthly/bimonthly prescriptions.

(There is also a cheaper one for menopause HRT, but it only covers those medications)
Btw - if you're in England and regularly get prescriptions, look up a Prescription Prepayment Certificate. Pay upfront and it covers all your NHS prescriptions. Worth it if you get more than 4 in 3 months or 12 in a year.

There's no income qualification or anything complicated, and it's legit.

I put it all together anyway, but it didn’t work and now I’m being arrested for attempted battery.
