This Movie Exists - "HOPALONG CASSIDY"

You might have heard the name. You may have seen the films- there are 66 of them (really!) You don't know the story of WHY Westerns stayed popular generations longer than anyone expected because ONE MAN changed Hollywood history

I recommend Robert's pod Behind the Bastards which has a couple of episodes on Adams including the pool.

The Holiday really does ask the question: How much can we get away with if we just stuff this movie with beautiful people being flirty and cute? Because oh my this film does drag and feels like two and a half films stuffed into one.

It's always a pleasure to watch an actor who has just got 'it' and James Caan in Thief has that in spades.

Josh O’Connor calls THE LAST JEDI “so beautiful.”

“The end of that movie - how anyone could be a Jedi... I just remember seeing that movie in the cinemas and I wept of that last image with the boy. It’s just one of the most iconic images in cinema”

Note I have not seen Death Proof. And yes I do rate The Hateful Eight very highly.

The fights are fun and colourful, the Crazy 88 fight is a genuinely phenomenal sequence, and Uma Thurman shines; but I came away from Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair with a palpable feeling of it just being fine and honestly might by the lowest I would rank of Tarantino's work.

So that moment when the duvet is pulled away at the end of Raw (2016) got me good. A genuine gasp escaped my lungs.

Blimey I'm loving Blue Prince. There are mysteries within mysteries and I'm still working things out and exploring possibilities of room combos, dates and other clues.

I have wanted to watch Mad God for a good while. Now that I have watched it I can resolutely say that was brilliant. The craft of it alone is admirable with how much time Phil Tippett has given to it.

Got to Room 46 in Blue Prince. It's technically the end but there are so many unanswered threads that I will be jumping back in soon enough, trying to piece together the jumble of notes and numbers I have taken.

The Mockingbird is a delightful little cinema and a great setting to watch Wake Up Dead Man.

It's once again an excellent outing and Josh O'Connor gives the best performance of anyone from the current Knives Out movies.
