I contain multitudes.
To keep myself from going totally insane, I have to believe that the America I love is gone; otherwise, I'll fall into a deep, deep depression.

Everything's so horrible and deranged, I kinda see why desperation once made someone say, "Maybe God'll fix shit if we throw folks in an active volcano..?"

Food stamps remind me of vaccines, we basically eliminated hunger like we eliminated measles, both incredible human accomplishments the GOP is determined to reverse.

20 years of go along to get along upward mobility culture and satisfying the commander's intent on paper, and in spite of the truth, seems at odds with this idea that military officers are going to hold the line and disobey illegal orders. I'm either too cynical or you guys are super naive.

The news coming out of the US everyday is terrifying me. I can't believe things are getting this bad and 45% of you either tolerate it or love it.

The Democratic brand is so toxic anyway, I don't think there's enough votes to win by playing it nice and straight down the middle. The base wants blood. A candidate who's going to take their pound of flesh, win or lose. Give it to them.
The median Dem primary voter is now interested in how many heads on pikes a candidate promises to deliver.

“Silverado” is such a great Western. The camera shots, the plot, the sets, the soundtrack—so good! I love it!

I don't think AI is going to fix climate change or cure cancer, but it may render the internet completely unusable.
David and Larry Ellisons’ sloptastic vision for Hollywood is coming into focus:

“Paramount has reportedly signed a $200M+ multiyear deal for Higgsfield AI to use mass-use Popcorn AI model that ingests dailies and script notes, then outputs regional cuts: new leads, alternate jokes, revised endings”

Given the incompetence of Trump as a real estate developer, I assume it won’t be done by 2028. What I do not assume is that it will actually be a ballroom.
Tell me a scenario in which Trump accepts that his completed ballroom is being used by a Democrat or a Republican he hates. This is, literally, a monument to permanence. It’s not the action of someone planning to leave.

I'm sure this'll turn out fine.
NBC News finds that:
-- ICE has shortened its training from 13 weeks to six.
-- Nearly half of recruits couldn’t pass an open-book written exam.
-- Recruits "are supposed to attest" they can pass the physical-fitness test, which requires them to run ... 6 mph.

Jesus fuck…
ICE has sharply increased its spending on weapons in 2025, coming out to more than 700 percent compared to 2024 levels.

Most of the spending was on guns and armor, but there have also been significant purchases of chemical weapons and “guided missile warheads and explosive components.”
