On Sunday night, Al-Helou maternity hospital in Gaza City, which our teams support, sustained severe collateral damage from nearby attacks. This came despite multiple assurances from Israeli forces that the hospital was not in danger.

The BMA stands firmly against all forms of racism and xenophobia. International doctors are central to the NHS, yet too many face discrimination and hostility. We're calling for stronger protections, inclusivity, and respect so all doctors can thrive.

NEW REPORT: How does patient satisfaction with general practice vary in England? And what do patients value in their practice?

We find that patients prefer:
- More GP partners
- More GP appts
- More F2F appts
- Smaller list sizes

Patients shouldn’t have to worry that what they tell their GP will get fed to AI models without the full range of safeguards in place to dictate how that data is shared

This:
Already over 6000 Neighbourhood Health Centres in England

GP Practices have lost 20% real terms funding since 2016, if they hadn’t they would be better able to provide the care patients need
Still 31m appts/month

Fund GP practices properly & they’ll do the rest with less funding & quicker

GPs have been labelled “laggards” & “blockers of progress” despite eRS; EPS; GPSoC; GPC-UR read access; 99% surgeries on cloud-based telephony; & access higher than any point in 77 yr Hx of NHS: 1.5m pts/day

BMA has also “been horrified” by this attack
www.bma.org.uk/bma-media-ce...
The CMA stands with the @medwma.bsky.social in condemning attacks on hospitals, health care workers, journalists, and civilians. Physicians, nurses, and journalists play a vital role in conflict zones, protecting them is a matter of international humanitarian law and human rights.
WMA strongly condemns the recent attack on Nasser Hospital in Gaza, which killed and wounded journalists, health workers and civilians.

Hospitals and health professionals must never be targeted in armed conflicts.
