Same for me with Haemophilus influenzae. As a resident I’d perform 2-3 spinal taps a week for it. The neurological devastation from H flu meningitis was horrible. Haven’t seen a case since the vaccine was introduced.
I took care of numerous kids with fulminant hepatitis B in the 90s before the switch to getting the first vaccine at birth. I don’t recall having one since. I do not miss caring for that disease.
