Unless I very specifically note otherwise, none of my posts are about men's college basketball. Awful sport. Thanks for coming, grab a chair, I don't do halves and I forgot what constitutes a 1 and 1. There's drinks in the fridge and chips on top of the washer bc we're running out of space

Probably the best game I've ever seen from Lauren Ware. She was everywhere defensively for A&M

hard to think of a better example of "you may not believe in class war, but billionaires know they're in one" than this
This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

According to Doug Feinberg of the AP, the League submitted a new CBA proposal to the WNBPA today. So after messing around and doing nothing for over a month, it took all of four days after they finally had a meeting to put a new offer together. Ugh. #WNBA

I still maintain that it's only okay for sports gambling to be legal if you can only go to a sportsbook to place bets. Gambling being as accessible on the phone/online as it is will continue to rot society

"I think the league has kind of operated from a place of comfort and complacency in the sense that they released the season schedule without our CBA being negotiated."

"You have teams putting out schedules, and these teams don't have players on them."
For @cbssports.bsky.social I spoke with WNBPA secretary Elizabeth Williams about Monday's meeting, a potential strike, being "cautiously optimistic" despite STILL not having a proposal from the WNBA, and why the schedule release was a tipping point for players.

#ICYMI: BREAKING–– league sources tell @theixsports.bsky.social that the New York Liberty are adding two former #WNBA players to Chris Demarco’s staff: ex-Sky assistant Courtney Paris and now former Sun Manager of Basketball Development Kristen Mann.

Both bring #WNBA institutional knowledge.

again we do not really do a good job of explaining how wealthy people like Jeff Bezos are

his net worth is $253.2 billion.
so he could take one million dollars, and just light it on fire
and then do it again tomorrow
and again the day after that
and then do it every day for 693 years and 8 months

They have bigger things to agree first, but I really hope someone at the WNBA (and WNBPA) sees weeks like this in the NBA and how much they drive interest, engagement, and just general excitement. We need rules that encourage and enable deals. Or at least *potential* deals. Open things up. #WNBA

I am BEGGING the WNBA to please be serious
The WNBPA is still awaiting an official response from the league since sending it a proposal a month ago. The league feels the proposal didn't warrant a response since it wasn't that different from past ones — and instead is waiting for what it’d consider a more "realistic" proposal
Talks between the WNBA and WNBPA are at a standstill nearly three weeks after allowing the past CBA to expire and with just over 100 days until the 2026 season tips.

ESPN assesses keys to breaking this stalemate and the potential path forward:

Then says “it’s crazy that people make it seem like … the murder of civilians is acceptable.”
