As long as Mondays count, you'd be starting to get a little excited right now...
"There will be more points/goals scored in a professional soccer game this weekend than in an NFL game" would be a fun bet if you got good enough odds. Suddenly, a 3-2 Sunday night game would be gripping.

I hesitate to even use the word 'getting', but this is getting absolutely ridiculous.

Someone remind Tua that our punter might be the best player relative to position on the entire roster. That's the second time today he's essentially arm-punted.

As usual, I haaaaaate that I'm sitting through every minute of this Dolphins performance knowing in the back of my mind that they'd probably be better off losing this game. Stupid American sports system.

So absurd (and irritating) when a commentary team pronounce a player's name differently for an entire match. You are at least vaguely listening to each other, right? One of you, hopefully, might even know what's correct. But at least sodding pick one.

For those who want more detail on lottery odds than just the chances at the #1 pick, don't forget the table below. #WNBA
With the 2026 WNBA lottery combinations announced — @kareemcopeland.bsky.social I believe had it first — here are the odds for each pick in the top five (assuming the process does not change from 2025)

Even before all the issues with anything Saudi-tied, that's currently-negotiating-a-new-CBA, WNBPA President Nneka Ogwumike. Women's basketball has obviously had a multi-league setup for eons, but never before have star W players been so entwined elsewhere. Makes things even more complicated. #WNBA
Nneka Ogwumike has announced that she has joined the Saudi backed global women’s league, Project B, as a part owner. #wnba

Ah well, the Tempo will just have to win it all next year instead.

Damn, Will Smith really slapped the hell out of that ball.
November 2, 2025 at 4:12 AM
So there's a superstar kid called Vlad Guerrero, a guy called Bichette hit a homer over what sounded like a guy called Edmonds, and a guy called Hoffman is trying to close the game. Did I just fall asleep for 25 years?

Funny how in Week 9 you can be a two-win team where lots of reasonable people still think you have real playoff prospects, or a two-win team where everyone with a brain knows that the entire coaching staff and front office are already dead men walking.

Maybe most interesting thing about 30-day extension is it's so short. Suggests either they really think they can get somewhere meaningful in that window, or that they really *want* to get somewhere in that window (because then there'd hopefully be time for lottery/expansion draft before Jan). #WNBA

As I've tried to make clear multiple times, October 31 was never likely to be a real deadline for a new CBA. If they get it done within the 30-day extension period it would *still* be the earliest agreed renewal in eons. Agreeing the extension is definitely better than it just lapsing, though. #WNBA
Small reminder that while the CBA does officially expire on Oct 31, that was never a true deadline. The last one was agreed in mid-January, the one before that in mid-February. So there is still time. Having expansion teams to deal with adds complications, but it's not panic stations *yet*. #WNBA

Anyone got a couch available for about 10 days in Berlin next September? Your city is not cheap. #FIBAWWC

Absolute absurdity of (American) sport that I'm disappointed the first two of my teams lost this weekend, and then disappointed that the third won.

As someone who frankly struggles to care about college sports, I love to see WNBA teams now paying enough to tempt college coaches to the pros. I want all the best players in the W, and all the best available coaches too. As always some will work and some won't, but expanding the pool is good. #WNBA

Assuming this stuff actually hasn't hit the WNBA - rather than people have just gotten away with it - I can only imagine it's because lower volume of bets means it would be harder to cover up unusual patterns. Tempting info out of someone earning 60k seems like it'd be easier than someone on 20m.

Wait, a team's injury report had incomplete information and a player might have told someone something more accurate before it was public? Excuse me while I faint in surprise.

I was just on the phone to my water company for an hour. I'm being moved to a new payment system because the previous one essentially wasn't fit for purpose. The amount I was paying on the old system is now a complete irrelevance to them. Increase/decrease/comparison don't matter. Funny that. #WNBA

It's nice that that Valkyries superfan with the hair has a side-gig playing for the Warriors. Gotta fill the offseason somehow.
