Hi there. For ESPN, I did a long retrospective on Trent Alexander-Arnold's career so far. The article covers:
- Liverpool before TAA
- How he helped transformed Liverpool
- An early glimpse to his potential role with Real Madrid
- Challenge he'll face in Spanish football
www.espn.com/soccer/story...
Alexander-Arnold transformed Liverpool. Will he do the same for Real Madrid?
Trent Alexander-Arnold left the Premier League as one of its best players ever. Whether he can reach similar heights in LaLiga as a Real Madrid player will be fascinating to watch.

I think we tend to overuse the "I'm learning about [insert subject] against my will" statement, but I genuinely am learning about Olivia Nuzzi against my will smh
The forthcoming print edition of Vanity Fair includes an abstract nude portrait of Olivia Nuzzi, @nataliekorach.bsky.social reports, writing about how the growing scandal is raising questions about the decision making at the magazine.

Brad Treliving is when nepotism goes wrong lol. That man has weakened two Canadian franchises under his stewardship in the last decade
I rarely tweet about hockey, but I can't stop chuckling at how fucked the Leafs are. Their bet in trying to replicate Marner in the aggregate has gone terribly, Matthews is declining earlier than expected, they have minimal young talents coming up, and they owe a top 5 protected pick to Boston lmao

I tried to translate @tomoc.bsky.social's storytelling and @moesquare.bsky.social's analysis into a single stat:

Riccardo Calafiori is the only player across Europe’s Big Five Leagues this season that averages 10+ touches in each third, 2.5+ touches in each box, 2+ shots and 2+ clearances per 90.

It's possible the Raps start playing better with most/all of their expensive players on the court, but the key to them being successful has been their hybrid starters + bench lineups kicking ass
Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett & Jakob Poeltl have played in 10 games together this season, more than they did all last season.

Last season: 9 games, 3-6 record, 140 minutes, -11.2 net rating
This season: 10 games, 7-3 record, 162 minutes, -0.8 net rating
