it seems very much as if the post-millennial Star Wars have tried to close this - well, loophole that isn’t really a loophole, by going out of their way to emphasize: no, the people working for Empire know what they’re involved in. Kevin Smith laid it all out with the roofer’s speech in 1994.
What really gets me is how many people would, essentially, stump for the Empire because they wanted the Rebels to be terrorists for Reasons took the first half of the scene but purposefully ignore the second half with a roofer listens to his heart etc.

Speaking as a GAC provider: for years now, NYT has been a reliable spigot of medical misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation (true facts presented in a way that misleads). NYT has goaded the anti-trans political machine as much as any institution in our country. I will never forget it.
