Fellow Illinoisans...be all over Durbin on this. No more deals without these conditions.
We’ve got another government shutdown opportunity at the end of this month. Here’s what we should be demanding: permanent ACA tax subsidies and no more ICE funding.

🖊️ Dear Democrats, never give up leverage to people who negotiate in bad faith.

Look, I believe in casts, but if a parent has strongly-held anti-cast beliefs, they should be allowed to let their kid’s broken arm grow back all floppy and fucked up, even to the point of lifelong, debilitating pain. And that’s not child abuse because a kid’s bones are their parents’ property

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.

They are doing everything possible to create the unintended consequence of radicalizing the majority of the people against them. Now we must drive the message home to everyone that they are trying to impose totalitarianism and we must resist everywhere.

The simplest way to explain that this is a secret police gone wild in pursuit of a concentration camp system is what would you say if—I know it would never happen—if, let's say, white men or gun owners were being treated like this? Or Jews?

You wouldn't just say, "Better get them more training!"
Minneapolis shows us the only way out

Today, we will see the closest thing to a general strike in the US since 1946. Much of Minnesota will simply say, "Hell, no," to the lawless, vicious, and absurdly unnecessary assault on their neighbors by the Trump regime's Department of Homeland Security.
