imagine putting this money into a new deal 2.0 and fixing roads and bridges, providing housing and healthcare to everyone, and streamlining immigration processes
ICE’s pending $30 billion budget exceeds the military spending of nearly every country, including Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Iran.

ICE + CBP funding for 2026 would total $66 billion, higher than all but 7 militaries worldwide.
After a string of ICE murders, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries proposed reforms — and $11 billion more for ICE.

Including reconciliation bill funding, the Schumer-Jeffries plan would give ICE a $30 billion budget, higher than all but 15 militaries worldwide:

“He’s *so* elusive!”
Does anyone else have an MST3K line they use regularly, even if it makes no sense out of context?

Because I have both "That'll keep your panfish down for a while." and "Come come, boys, we must confound Jerry at every turn!" from MST3K the movie alone.

We need to talk about this because corporate media won't.

1. The FBI knew about at least 10 co-conspirators who enabled Epstein
2. The FBI received multiple tips from women reporting Epstein’s abuse, some explicitly named Trump
3. The DOJ has redacted far beyond what the law allows

he literally dangled from power lines meant to symbolize the dilapidated Puerto Rican power grid
Analysis: Weeks before he set foot on the stage, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance had already become a media event.

But if you were looking for political commentary, the closest that you got was when he said “God bless America” in English.
Analysis | Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show was expected to provoke. Did it?
The Bad Bunny Super Bowl show nodded to injustices in Puerto Rico but mostly evoked wholesome family values that meshed with the more sentimental commercials.

I really wish we had a well funded, power critical fourth estate interested in investigating the source of this clearly coordinated effort by payment processors.

Like, we keep seeing the impact of it, but I really want to know the "who" and the "why" beyond nebulous surveillance/puritanism forces.

One of several benefits to a parliamentary system is that, unlike the President, the PM is viewed as a sad sack civil servant and not as the PADISHAH EMPEROR OF THE KNOWN UNIVERSE

I really want people to think about this. After all the insane lawsuits, all the threats, all the bullshit weve seen from this admin and the targets who kneeled in fear, an average Joe called the president a Pedophile protector to his face and didn't get touched. That's the Power of a union.

Now we’re starving them and will do the same, then probably install a RW dictator (again).

While the rest of you enjoyed Bad Bunny's historic Super Bowl halftime show, I was watching Kid Rock's D+ lip-synching to "Bawitdaba" in Turning Point USA's Charlie Kirk memorial counterprogramming. Here's what you missed:
Turning Point USA’s Halftime Show Was Exactly What You’d Expect
“The All-American Halftime Show," born out of outrage over Bad Bunny's Super Bowl performance, fell short of the hype. From Kid Rock’s poor lip synching to Erika Kirk being MIA, it was simply dull.

What 2020s movie has the greatest cultural footprint?

Note: This is not necessarily about box office, Oscars, critical acclaim, though all of those can count. It's more... pieces of it have so completely permeated our cultural groundwater that it will always be there.
