It seems to have come out well. This is for a group event tomorrow where I needed quantity but have not a lot of time for prep. I used a spice cake mix, cut the water and oil just a touch so the batter was a bit thicker, and then dumped it over 2 cans of apple pie filling. Smells great.
Barn day and errand day. We are still at no water, but there is hope that the well will be cleared next week! We still have horses in quarantine, fingers crossed that ends soon, but everyone seems fine. And I have an apple spice cake in the oven, it's a trial recipe so if it goes well I'll post it.

I'm 99% sure my husband is going back to work for the first time in 40 some days... which means I am going to have time alone for the first time in 40 some days... and that feels very weird.

It's super fun that now that the stalemate is broken, Johnson is dragging things out still.

Did anyone else's parent bake their corn taco shells filled with the already cooked meat so that it was a soggy over cooked mess, or was that just mine?

There is a whole lot of things that won't be as stressful March 1, and I am trying to get myself to that point.

Sooo much snow today! Like 3 inches of so of fluffy flakes. Alas it was vet day so I didn't get to see the horse out in it, but I did get some horse scritching time.

There is irony to the govt "reopening" right before a federal holiday, but watch out to see if they follow law and back pay people. Right now Fed workers owe I think 2 months of insurance premiums from their checks when they do get paid. Not getting the back pay, which is required by law, will hurt.

We have legit snow on the ground. Not on the roadways mostly because the ground isn't cold enough... but like an inch of white stuff and it's still coming down. Wed it should be melted and gone at least.

I'm focusing on good things. Like getting the last part of our family vaccinated today... and barn time tomorrow.

At least 17 years ago, possibly more, my local grocery chain stopped carrying the New York Style Everything Bagel Crisps. A couple places carry them in other flavors, but I haven't found everything for many many years. Today I found them at Jungle Jim's.

My novel, Memory and Magic. I have dreamed of publishing a novel, then this novel. It's a romance, in my favorite era, a quasi regency, with blood magic, politics, and a lot of laundry...

Today's barn adventures was finding out one of the horses has a virus that can hit humans, so quarantine and a lot of decontamination (it's not serious). We have water we can flush the toilet, but nothing else, and there was a lot of rain. So water we didn't want. Soon the well will be checked!
