When that man is dead and gone...
okay if you could magically become the greatest figure skater in the world for a day and deliver one banger performance that would live on forever, and if you could truly let your freak flag fly to choose ANY music you wanted, what are you skating to

I might do “Black Jack Davy” by Steeleye Span

Fun fact: If you are not a horse girl (hi), this game is still engrossing as heck. The art is so cute and the gameplay so satisfying. The demo just has one teensy problem: it's a demo and not the full game. LET ME CARE FOR MY HORSES, THOGLI. It's very soothing to brush them.

Anyway, check it out. 💕
OUT NOW: The DEMO of Horses of Hoofprint Bay is now available to play on Steam 😱 Get your nostalgic horse game playtime right here and let us know what you think! 👇💖

Today we are launching a new intitative of Stand With Minnesota—KeepMNHoused.com, a rent-relief campaign backed with a $1.5 matching fund from the Wilson Foundation.

Thousands of MN families are at risk of eviction because of the ICE occupation’s lasting impacts. We can keep them housed.

9 days of stress left but I have decided what I am doing the first Monday after everything is over... lunch at a sit down place all by myself with a good book. I can't wait.

Midwest people... be weather aware today. Indiana especially. We are due a round of strong thunderstorms this evening that have the possibility of tornados. Make sure your phones are charged, getting alerts and you have a weather plan JIC because this is an early start to the season.

I'm loving @confusionmi.bsky.social videos! It's like catching a panel in the comfort of my own home, and it's really taking the edge off of the post Con sadness!

whoa...
BBC reporting that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

There is no precedent for a senior member of the royal family being placed under arrest in modern British history. A seismic moment for the monarchy.

I took down that voter reg database because it is asking for a lot more info then you need to check your registration... not doubt to build a fundraising database. Look up your states secretary of state website and there should be a way to check there.

I don't know it its the weather about to change (with severe weather predicted tomorrow) or something else but it's been a very on edge day at Cricket house.

It's very weird to be in survival mode for like 5 years (ok probably more like 15) and suddenly have a lot of the burdens going away. I gave up a LOT of things to be present parent for my kids. Because there wasn't enough time... we had activities most weekends and most weekdays...

I was a premie with jaundice who couldn't digest milk... so yeah.
People always ask, "What would you do if you were born in another time period?"

With my health the answer is almost always, "Die before kindergarten."

Medical progress is the real deal, buddies.
before antibiotics did people just die all the time from everything?

Insanely unfun fact: comorbid with "vaccine hesitancy" is refusal of the at-birth Vitamin K shot. Babies used to just bleed out from their brains sometimes! We have a solution for that! And people are just going nah!
Yes.

Staph infections were fatal so often that we distinguished them by what part of the body they attacked first. "Childbed fever" is a term for a variety of post-birth complications that killed a lot of women. There are reasons wet nurses used to be so common. (And they're not all class-based.)

Who has two thumbs and forgot that she can't do 6+ hours at the barn in 2 days without (lightly) hurting something. Opps.

One my the great joys lately is learning new skills and getting good at them. We had to hand walk horses to the field because the mud freezes overnight, and my horse Sassy was grazing on a lead rope while we waited for everyone to get set up and the gate closed. We think she got zapped by the fence.

Look I don't wanna boost that Elon post about English / Scots / Irish stuff more than it needs to be boosted but anyone claiming that English / Scots / Irish culture are the same inherent base culture is inherently disqualified from any further commentary on English / Scots / Irish culture.

In other barn news, I need a middle name for Phantom. He gets impatient waiting to get turned out and I need something with more syllables to scold him with when he starts kicking the stall door.

Phantom McGee is my top pick so far.

You can tell it was a barn day by the giant Wally eye booger he wiped on my shoulder. Goofy guy. He really is like the labrador of ponies. I think he'd be a lap pony if all 14 hands of him would fit.
