I got to ride last weekend and this is Biscuit. He was sooo sweet and calm for me, lol very opposite of the way he is when he wants to get out to the field and rubbing his face all over me trying to get me to open the door so he can go first.

Our pumpkins for the year, this year all homegrown from a volunteeer seed in my asperagus patch.
2 pumpkins on a white painted steps. One is tiny and uncarved, the other has been carved like sun from fnaf... my child tells me. White steps with a pumpkin where a looong chonky cat has been carved out.

This was the greatest costume I ever made... alas that this squish was only a few days old and I underestimated how much birth/newborn would make me not want to go outside. But here is my baby sashimi who is now in Highschool.
A very new infant wearing a sashimi costume that consists of a white onesie, a pink felt tuna piece, a green ribbon/ nori belt, and a wasabi green hat that has felt "plastic grass" and a rosette of felt ginger. The baby looks vaguely grumpy with hands waving around their face and a pumpkin is just in shot to the left.

It's hard to see through the fake fence they put up... but clearly they had a Shaggy mannequin... but the ladies have had some key things changed.
Through a fence is the Scoobie Doo crew, except they all look a little off... Daphne is brunette, Velma has no glasses... but the sculptures look almost correct. There is a skeleton behind them and another winged skeleton on a pillar and the faux iron fence in front.

This year's display also has a theme... but something is a little... off.
The Mystery Machine van with scoobie doo popping out of the top behind a faux iron fence. There is a robed skeleton standing behind them a story and a half tall. Scoobie doo stands in front of a mystery machine van that has another Scoobie doo popping out of the roof. A winged deomon and a skeleton are around them both. Last year the main display was ghost busters themed. As you can see they are clearly handmade and stay puff has seen better days, so this year they were relegated to the backyard with the aliens.

And even more downtown. Most of this gets reused, but they move it around a little and a few new pieces show up every year.

I cannot emphasize enough how these displays take up over a block of downtown... both sides of the street.
Foy's Kid's costume store with a bench out front with eyes and teeth painted on it. There are 2 mannequins sitting on it, a zombie in a white tuxedo and one in an orange robe. This empty lot has been the site of the zombie express for a few years now.

People really love Halloween here. The last three pics, they've updated and added some ritual looking stuff and wizards and lights since I took these pics.

We aren't done... this isn't even a main house, I think they just decided to get into the fun with a skeleton display!

This is not one of them though, this lot is empty most of the year... until the Pirates invade mid September.
A pirate ship built over a trailer with someone poking the head in and out of a window, a crows nest and "Davy Jones" at the wheel. In the background are more pirates and a treasure chest. Three pirates, one vaguely Jack Sparrow like among treasure chests. A stage in the background contains more pirates including one at a wheel. 2 more Pirate ships to the left of the stage filled with various living and dead pirates. They are all built on trailer beds so they have wheels and are at least 8 foot long each.

The fun part of this was the scarecrow in the outhouse moves back and forth.
A commercially made giant pumpkin monster missing part of it's arm. Homemade pumpkin demon creatures poking up above a line of bushes An outhouse with a scarecrow creature sitting in it.

I remain amused that instead of any type of harness for the wagon they threw the shafts threw the stirrups of a western saddle and said good enough.

If you go down the block, you get to the decommissioned church. In past years an army of skeletons crawled over it, but now it seems to be mostly pumpkin monsters and things they don't have a place for in the other displays.

Foy's dime store has one of the biggest displays. Some of them are silly, some are not. The Gasoline one is new this year... replacing several vomiting zombie fountains.

The Ohio department of health (ODH) has received more funding to keep the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) programing running into November. They will still check who qualifies, take height, weight and blood measurements, fill out forms, and give nutrition and breastfeeding education, support and referrals. ODH continues to monitor food redemption daily and additional funding opportunities.
