Love to see the media elite in this country work themselves up into a confected lather of outrage at a Victorian premier initiating necessary public health measures during a pandemic, and then calmly nodding along to whatever TF this is...

Shocked* to learn that a dude who ran Rupert Murdoch's UK papers has destroyed the Washington Post
February 7, 2026 at 11:52 PM
Evergreen post
And again you have to ask who the Age thinks its fucking audience is; I suspect the Sydney execs who run it don’t really care.

I was thinking that. Considering there is a former Prince still walking around freely and a really unlikable parasitic family protecting that former Prince. Really low hanging fruit stuff.

Unfortunately, the editors at the Murdoch and Channel 9 papers would have to press pause on their relentless campaigning for Hanson, so I doubt the media will be interested...

Police confirm the man accused of throwing a bomb at the #InvasionDay rally is a “Nationalist” radicalised by “pro-white” material.

After falsely blaming pro‑Palestinians for Bondi, will the media & politicians get it right this time & demand action to tackle Far-Right extremism?

Weird framing from the Channel 9 paper here..."national firestorm"??
📢 Newcastle Writers Festival has defied a national firestorm over the Palestinian-Australian author that led to the cancellation of Adelaide Writers’ Week.

2) Genocide is bad

OMG! Jacinta Allan must resign!
Queensland Premier David Crisafulli has again sought to blame the former government for a possible credit rating hit in future, despite new analysis noting his own actions will be crucial to avoiding one.
Crisafulli blames Labor for debt woes, but experts say otherwise
Despite an “air of inevitability” about a credit downgrade, which would add pressure to the state’s budget, a ratings agency has held off – for now.

Weird that a magistrate would think getting an unrepentant Nazi to do community service is a good thing.
Neo-Nazi leader Jacob Hersant was sentenced to one month in prison for a Nazi salute. When he participated in a violent group attack on hikers, including assault and armed robbery, he got 200 hours of community service. www.smh.com.au/national/vic...
Neo-Nazi Jacob Hersant jailed after failed salute appeal
The judge lashed Hersant as being remorseless and described his behaviour as an assault on human dignity.

Public faith in anti-corruption institutions is fragile and hard won. Commissioner Brereton’s handling of his Defence connections, and his inability to clearly account for them over time, has weakened confidence in the NACC.

He should consider stepping aside to rebuild public trust in the NACC.
Anti-corruption boss given 'please explain' by government over Defence ties
Attorney-General Michelle Rowland asked Paul Brereton to explain why his ongoing ties to Defence had not been "adequately" disclosed in a letter sent last year.

Every day that passes Dan Andrews' decision to bail on the Commonwealth Games looks smarter and smarter.
Brissie having to suck up the shit sandwich of the Olympics because, a) too shitscared to cancel, & b) Chrisafuli cant cancel because they'd be 'doing a Vic ALP thing' and their Costanza-ideology says 'do the opposite' no matter how fucked up.

Anyway last Games ever.

Exactly what I was thinking. Imagine a government actually committed to addressing housing inequality by running proper architectural competitions to generate quality public housing on these key sites...
Under a half way decent government this could be an opportunity to turn the corner on the housing crisis by building thousands of new high quality public housing units in key locations across Australia - a flagship project that could be repeated on other unused or under-utilised government land.

lotta rich people screaming about government spending. Easy solution, Ted. Stop giving billions of our dollars to expensive schools, franking boomers, and landlords. Nothing more inflationary than free money for the rich who produce nothing but speculation and bubbles.

Parliament’s back today.
