Depressing thing about the Adelaide Writers Fest is how many people haven’t cancelled. And I assume won’t.

The press in this country is laughable. They spent a fortnight stridently demanding Ablo spin up a Royal Commission (despite the fact that anything of import would be sub judice until the criminal case is complete), and now that he’s buckled like a card table they’re all “too late, man.”

I always thought the term "cosplaying" was overused until ICE/CBP started showing up everywhere. Look at this guy, does he think it's Fallujah? (It's a high school in Minneapolis).

They know they can kill at will. Not fussed at all.
Watch the video of this Minneapolis shooting and tell me how anyone could reasonably say that the ICE officer looked like he was about to die or be injured and that three shots to the head is the logical response to the situation.

If he really said this, there needs to be legal action.

The point is that, while criminal proceedings are on foot, a royal commission can't look at anything to do with the Bondi shootings or the shooters, including why and how they did it, that is it can't touch on the subject that is its sole reason for being established. It will achieve nothing.
There's a glaring problem with calls for a royal commission into the Bondi terror attack
Australians deserve answers after the Bondi Beach shooting — but a royal commission won't deliver them.

What’s the point of writers’ festivals — or, for that matter, writers — if they can’t discuss issues that matter? Australian arts administrators would rather destroy the whole sector than allow Palestinians to speak about genocide. It’s beyond shameful.
