People fleeing war and persecution are ready and able to contribute to our society.

The problem is... they're not allowed.

Rather than shipping them off to army barracks all over the country, it's time to let asylum seekers work.

Our entire political conversation - under a labour government - has taken a huge shift to the right.

We can't let this be normalised.

It's been 30 years since the Disability Discrimination Act was passed, and 15 since it was rolled into the Equality Act 2010.

If you're still doing fireworks, especially in neighborhoods, you're a lint licker and my dog hopes you stub your pinky toe.
here’s your July 3rd reminder that there ARE alternatives to fireworks!

Fireworks lead wildlife to abandon nests and get confused, pollute all elements of our environment, ignite wildfires, and can be triggering to people with PTSD or sensory difficulties.

There are many British commentators who have made several posts showing deep concern for Rachel Reeves over the last 24 hours but apparently lost their phones whilst hundreds of thousands of disabled people were terrified of losing the benefits they need to live.

This #DisabilityPrideMonth we are highlightling members who are disabled, and proud of who they are and what their differences mean to them.

First up we have Julie Grant, who discusses learning about her neurodivergencies as a parent.

Those who are sick and injured or Disabled today and in the future need our solidarity, and from Greens they will get it.

This rushed, shameful, cruel Bill must fall.

Tomorrow MPs will vote on the govt's brutal UC & PIP cuts.

Let's be clear: slashing benefits won’t lift people into work—it will push more disabled people and unpaid carers to the brink. I won’t back a Bill that pushes vulnerable people deeper into poverty.

July is #DisabilityPrideMonth and we are standing proud even when both Labour and the Tories want to cut us down.

Stand tall this month, in spite of them.

It's absolutely unacceptable for Starmer and Kendall to come after disabled people, when a minor Wealth Tax would raise ten times the amount even they claim they'll save from these inhumane cuts.

"People in #Exeter with disabilities have the right to live with dignity and respect. PIP payments are essential for many to live independently and to participate in work, education and society. Removing it will deepen hardship and cost more in the long run." - Cllr Carol Bennett
