Hello! I am Dire!
I draw a fair bit of D&D art, some OCs, some assorted fanart for games/comics/animation.
Funnily the rabbit hole I tried to go down yesterday that was flooded with AI, was a Vietnam War one.

I came across a lot of stuff that glorifies wartime activities.

It was a messed up thing to do during the Vietnam war, but stolen valour adds another layer of cringe.
During the Vietnam War, U.S. troops regularly adorned Vietnamese corpses with “death cards” — either an ace of spades or a custom-printed business card claiming credit for their kills. Now, ICE is using them. theintercept.com/2026/02/03/i...

Tried to go down a rabbit hole today, but it was flooded with AI slop. :C

Grew up watching American media, I had no idea what calculus was and why it was so vexing.

I decided to watch a video of 5th grade calculus. And this vid was about how kids struggle because they didn't get the basic foundational concepts of it.

there's some cart before the chicken happening here.

If we didn't have art we wouldn't have written language to communicate the complexities of everything else we value.
“Are the arts important?” Humanity practiced them long before they had use for science and will practice them long after math is gone. Is the dawn important? Is dusk?

Was laying in bed when a spider dropped from the ceiling onto my pillow.

Excuse me, but does that look like a bloody tuffet to you, Sir???

Who in their right mind believes statements from the Department of Homeland Security?

Who believes anything Kristi Noem or Stephen Miller or Trump might say about what has just happened in Minneapolis?

They no longer have any credibility. That should be clear by now.

They lie like they breathe.

Was looking into girl guides for my kid because my sister suggested it as an option to get her into. (I'm not keen on team sports)

I was dubious because it seemed like one of those "white" institutions. Filled with people who wanted clout but didn't become members of the clergy.

I hate spider season. The other day I had finished with lunch and scraping the remainders off my plate, only to discover a daddy long legs under my rice 🤮

There's these plastic tubes that I have to chew on while wearing aligners to help my teeth move into position. I've gone through 3 of them so far and judging by my dentist's reaction that's not normal.

Mr. Dire joked that I need to get a Kong chew toy.

Needed to go exchange a faulty case fan, dude at the returns desk called out for help checking the fan I brought back and out from the back appeared a near identical dude with the same voice inflections and speech patterns.

It was like meeting Pumat Sol.

I was disappointed with those little pleather Goromi makeup bags the Sega shop was selling so I made a SaeMaji themed leather Goromi purse for @diyferret.bsky.social for Christmas

"look we're not using AI in the final product we're just using it to speed up the conceptual stage" is what a lot of dopes affecting an enlightened middle position keep saying. I truly do not get that one. You hate imagining stuff? You don't like thinking and conceptualizing? Get a grip

I watched a lot of movies this year. None of them in the cinema or streamed. I rewatched movies I owned in physical format, or privateered.

I've gotten thinking recently about the lack of media savvy. Not just in young people, I see it everywhere.

Do you think if the Emperor of America dies, his sons will attempt to fight each other for the crown?

Because that would be hilarious

In the comments of a Young Sheldon clip I saw some dudes arguing about what it meant to be red pilled in the context of "nice guys finished last so never be nice to women"

I don't think any of them have seen the matrix. It's been stripped of context and is now just part of their Incel-ese lexicon.

People will say stuff like "there's so much we don't know about the world" then go on to say "aliens must have built the pyramids"

Who is this "we"?

Today I said one of my coworkers was like a CD-R and not a CD-RW.

I then had to explain what those were.

Bloody starving at work so I got myself a big sandwich and some peripheral snacks.

Sat down, opened up social media, looked at some funny memes then wasn't hungry anymore.

I guess I must have spoiled my appetite with dopamine or something.

Your last saved meme is your moral philosophy.

No offence, but that spelling (*You're) needed correction.

The technology basically peaked. It's all incremental tinkering now. Like with digital cameras - the technical differences between the highest end products are only of interest to a tiny percentage of experts. Which might be part of the reason for "AI" being pushed in everything.
My phone is doing all the same things from 2015 with only minimal benefits. The only reason we have to upgrade is increased software bloat.

We should actually just have phones that last 15 years now.
www.cnbc.com/2025/11/23/h... "please, buy new phone. the economy is dying" is an incredible gaslight
