Why do we even bother with anonymity at this point, all white collar crime is basically legal
“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

The idea that Israel runs us is just "we'd never ever do genocide or war crimes unless we were made to by the outside influences!"

BUT GENOCIDE AND WAR CRIMES ARE ALL WE'VE EVER DONE.

And that's why Israel works for US. Occupied Palestine is OUR genocide.

i think what gets overlooked is that part of the humor and charm of edits like these is that you're perfectly aware that someone sat down and spent their own time making it. they chose to do something cool or silly or stupid or genius, regardless of the results

that human element elevates the work
Who needs AI when we had stuff like this? I’ll take photoshop edits over the slop any day

AI art enthusiasts lack the humility necessary in order to produce good art. You have to be willing to put yourself forward in a sincere, vulnerable manner to get from a rough thumbnail to a final beautiful result

Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things.

Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

speaking purely from my experience as an episodic director, but storyboard artists are defined by their ability to communicate their ideas at the thumbnail stage clearly and effectively. If you have to rely on AI to do the most fun and rewarding part, then you just aspire for... clean up? sad

placeholder art is supposed to look like this. you're supposed to make it in 5 seconds.

it's a crucial part of the process because a placeholder will often be remarkably similar to the final art/text, because you were unburdened by bigger details when you made it.

Jesse Hamm had the take to end all takes on children's media. "People who disdain writing ‘just for children’ fail to realize that those children will remember what they read, maybe for the rest of their lives. You’re not writing for permanent children; you’re getting an early start on adults.”
