Happy to share our latest preprint describing the first genome-wide mapping of G4s in T.Brucei, led by the amazing Ludovica Monti. We found that G4s accumulate in coding regions of the parasite, causing transcriptional perturbation upon treatment with G4-ligands.

Great paper from #ListerFellow Marco Di Antonio et al. G-quadruplex DNA appears to help ovarian cancer cells activate genes that shield them from chemotherapy. Drugs targeted to these structures re-sensitised the resistant cells to standard therapies.

Ready for super-G4s? We have identified clusters of G4s in intergenic regions that act as super-enhancers in ovarian cancer cells, hence the name super-G4! These are de novo super-enhancers that are not underpinned by canonical epigenetic marks, supporting the epigenetic role of G4s rdcu.be/evXtf
