Masking makes sense. SARS-CoV-2 can persist, and new evidence from France shows infected megakaryocytes + platelets — meaning real blood involvement. This virus isn’t just respiratory, and protecting your air protects your blood.

Don’t know anything about viral persistence? Know that it’s the norm👇
"No man is an island, entire of itself."
John Donne

For me, choosing to wear a respirator mask in all public spaces signifies an awareness of my connection to the human community, whose collective well-being is grievously threatened by the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19.

Thought experiment: what do you think would happen if your local police chief announced that henceforth, they would be shifting the majority of their resources to crack down on underage drinking. Three things would logically follow:

In old European folklore, houseleeks (Sempervivum tectorum) were grown on cottage roofs to guard against lightning and fire. Its little starry blooms and tight rosettes were thought to draw danger away from the hearth, keeping the household safe and sound. #FolkloreSunday

🧵 Let’s stick to facts:

COVID still kills.
The pandemic still exists.
People stopped testing — the virus didn’t.

The problem of sexual assault goes well beyond the perpetrators. It wouldn't happen without the enablers. Such as Republican politicians who go to church on Sunday and then spend their workdays trying to cover up the president's involvement with a child sex trafficking operation.

we well know that prices will not come down to pre-tariff costs. it's a win-win situation with trump's game. when are you democrats going to see/acknowledge that!? over and over again, you claim hollow victory, but we are still paying more for less.
Step 1: Implement tariffs (aka taxes)

Step 2: Realize this raised the cost of living and is the opposite of what you promised and they (among many, many other things) have made you unpopular

Step 3 (we are here): Begin reversing tariffs

Step 4: cross fingers prices come down and take credit

📍Senator Fetterman had a VFIB—the leading cause of cardiac arrest—he almost died if not for his implanted defibrillator, which can cost $34,000 to over $51,000. Days ago, he also just voted with GOP to gut health insurance tax credits for millions. Hope he has a change of heart.

one in every town, please
There's a roundabout in Cork where even during the worst traffic, drivers unfailingly allow others to merge in a "zip" by local custom. Driving through it restores my faith in society, every time.

I just found out it's known as the "soundabout", and that's just wonderful.
