Hey if you’re in Uptown/Lakeview and in the 46th Ward, our Alderwoman’s office is running a survey on those delivery robots we’ve been seeing around these past few weeks, please share your thoughts!

Stories in Games Aren't Problems, They're Solutions
Lots of video games have terrible stories, but that's no reason to give up telling them.

A violation of trust is pretty terrible to contend with as-is, but when that violation happens with a fellow gender-fuckery queer person at work it's... especially painful.

Like lmao it feels like such a gut-punch!! It hurts :(

The thing about “identify as” jokes is that the framing itself is inherently transphobic.

I’ve seen folks say they were joking but.. if so they’re no less a complete asshole, just in a different way.

I was set to not go home this Thanksgiving, it’s a good choice for me. My mind appreciates the peace.

But going into the Thanksgiving break with my dominant (right) hand in a splint for the next six weeks?

Kind of a bummer….

Well, Baten Kaitos recently received an update to patch the security vulnerability native to all Unity games.

Unfortunately, it also replaces your save files with, presumably, the save files used by the developer that deployed the patch.

I *cannot* start this game over, it's too lengthy... oof.

Jennifer English realizing she's a lesbian and falling in love with one of her mocap directors (Aliona Baranova) over the course of making BG3 and seeing all the queer folks embracing Shadowheart and the impact the game had is genuinely one of the best stories in game production in a long time
Congrats to Jennifer English for winning the Best Lead Performer award at the 2025 #GoldenJoystickAwards!

And her acceptance speech about queer joy was a love letter to @aliona.bsky.social 🥹🌈

Thanks to all who spoke with me, and always, to Keza for the chance to do important work!

Wow, fixing sticky/mushy buttons on a controller is *remarkably* simple with a straw to create space, and wd-40 + a tiny paint brush to gently apply the wd-40 in the button gaps.

I've spent my entire adult life just rebuying them but controllers are WAY too pricey nowadays to keep doing that.

When my arthritis flares up real bad in the winter I feel real damn guilty walking slower and using escalators because I think everyone around feels this way about me because it’s not visible…. so…

I dunno, have some compassion.

I'm humbly asking for your help.

as an independent musician, I pay for it all: making music, advertising it, playing it, everything. for tax purposes this year, I need to show that I'm making a profit so the IRS doesn't view it as a hobby. to do that this year, I have to make $439, exactly.

If you are in the business of making stories, quality writing is non-negotiable. Good localization is non-negotiable.
The writing has been on the wall, but to be quite frank, current SE leadership has shown utter disdain for its entire loc pipeline and if they can find a way to get rid of everyone in the chain, they will. If you care about quality prose in SE games, NOW is the time to let your feelings be known.
