Nothing exciting, really. TTRPGs, medieval reenactment, woodworking, programming, philosophy, and a whole lot of reading.
Seriously, though. Audible has been pushing these like nobody's business. I read them once, thought they were hackneyed and racist (seriously, those goblins), and didn't think to read them again.

Advertise something I will actually buy next time.

Age verification?

Age verification? I walked to school through the blizzard of 1977; finding the school closed, we turned around and walked back home. My mom really wasn't happy when we returned.
Age verification? I learned to program with punch cards.

"Please set the hours during which you wish to have some modicum of control over the device you own."

Remember folks, you have options. Like buying a console for your gaming and getting off of the spying dumpster fire that is Windows.

Or you can just learn to operate a computer and have it do exactly what you want.

It isn't difficult, especially these days. Interfaces are largely intuitive and there is good information at your fingertips when you need to learn something.

I did a quick search for Buffalo to see what's going on around town and instead found lots of folks making wings and dip.

As a lifelong Buffalonian and former fry cook I applaud you all and hope you enjoy the delight that is Franks Red Hot and butter.

The fundamental problem I have with baking is that it takes more or less the same amount of effort to make twice as many biscuits as it does to make a reasonably sized batch.

I love metal albums because one track might be all about believing in yourself and genuinely good life advice and the next track is about a wizard's skull exploding and ravens flying out

That sense of disappointment at seeing a movie Clancy Brown is in where his character survives to the end.

Now I am torn between getting a William Gibson or Laurie Anderson tulpa to haunt me.

"I turned the corner in Soho today and someone looked right at me and said: Oh No! Another Laurie Anderson clone!" - from Talk Normal
Friend Gilly in SF says that these new tulpas of me are all over the Embarcadero these days. This one literally popped up behind her husband in a snap she was taking. I’m guessing 6 fingers each hand, seriously next-gen AI.

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

"Which instance?"

"Where are your citations?"

An MMO is less a game, and more an opportunity to read articles, watch videos, and scour through old forum posts in the hopes you find the sadly lacking documentation you need.

Great replies in this thread from some favorite authors.
Yup. This is also why I get annoyed when people start suggesting "golden age" science fiction titles to people who are new the genre and are asking for suggestions. You want to turn a modern 15-year-old off science fiction forever, recommend stories that were old when her grandparents were her age.
When people ask how to get into GA SF I always say that the right way is via some of those fat "Best Of" short fiction collections

I may be a touch typist, but for some reason I never really got the hang of using my right thumb. I use all of the other fingers just fine, but the space bar is always the business of the left side.

The wear patterns are difficult to ignore.

I'm really beginning to wonder exactly how much crime a billionaire has to do in order to see the inside of a courtroom in this country.

Unless it is stealing money from other rich people, our justice system doesn't seem to care at all.

I can't take Zoom seriously as a platform because it can't cope with the fact that users may actually be using more than one device at a time.

Even Teams doesn't log you out for multiple concurrent sessions.
